Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has said President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will record a one-touch victory in the 7 December elections, after touring seven out of the 10 regions in the country.
He said the NDC had gained traction ahead of its competitors mainly because of the achievements and character of the leader of the party, John Dramani Mahama.
Addressing party supporters after a 12-km walk for victory through the principal streets of Nungua, in the Ledzokuku constituency, Mr Debrah, said although Mr Mahama and the NDC would win comprehensively, there was the need for each and every supporter and sympathiser to intensify the house-to-house campaign and make known the achievements of the NDC under the presidency of John Dramani Mahama.
Party bigwigs who joined the walk include the Member of Parliament for the area, Sena Okiti Duah, Greater Accra regional Chairman Ade Coker, regional campaign coordinator Sylvester Mensah, presidential staffer Mawusi Dzirasa, NDC communication officer Solomon Nkansah, and former youth organizer Ludwig Hlordze.
Others were Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi, campaign team member Faustina Nelson, Deputy Communications Minister Ato Sarpong, among others.
In his remark, Mr Ade Coker charged the crowd not to rest on their oars but stay vigilant until the election was over. He pointed out that “everybody must play his or her role effectively in order to maintain President Mahama for a second term and Sena Okiti Duah in parliament”.
Ms Okiti Duah called on the supporters to sustain the momentum and keep the spirits high because “victory is around the corner”.
She urged NDC supporters to endeavour to keep a close eye on the ballot by being watchful and smart on Election Day.

THE FIRST DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED LEADER OF PDP , OBASANJO RULED FOR 8 YEARS , HE WAS A FORMER SOLDER AND THE FIRST DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED PRESIDENT OF NDC , JJ RAWLINGS ALSO RULED FOR 8 YEARS. HE WAS A RETIRED SOLDIER. 3. PDP ELECTED UMARU Y'ARADUA WHO DIED BEFORE THE COMPLETION OF HIS FIRST TERM IN OFFICE AND NDC ALSO ELECTED ATTA MILLS WHO DIED BEFORE HIS COMPLETION OF FIRST TERM IN OFFICE. 4. GOODLUCK JONATHAN CONTINUED Y'ARADUA'S TERM IN OFFICE AND JOHN MAHAMA ALSO CONTINUED ATTA MILLS TERM IN OFFICE. 5. BOTH MAHAMA AND JONATHAN WENT UNOPPOSED IN THEIR BID TO BE FIRST TIME PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES ON THE TICKET OF THEIR PARTIES. 6. THEY BOTH WON IN THEIR ELECTIONS WHICH WERE CHALLENGED IN COURTS AND LATER RULED OUT ON THE GROUNDS OF TECHNICALITIES. 7. GOODLUCK JONATHAN, BORN IN NOVEMBER 1957 CONTESTED GEN. BUHARI , A 72 YEARS OLD AND LOST TO HIM . 8. JOHN MAHAMA OF NDC IN GHANA BORN NOVEMBER 1958 WHO WILL BE SAME AGE AS JONATHAN WHEN HE LOST TO GEN.
