Otiko Afisa Djaba, Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has employed supporters of the party not to jubilate over the victory of the party by stepping on toes of other opponents.
According to her, such actions only give birth to violence which mostly result into very unfortunate situations.
On Friday, 9th December 10, 2016 the Chairperson of Electoral Commission pronounced Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo winner of the 2016 General Elections, making him the next President of Ghana. That was after President Mahama had called to concede defeat.
Most streets in the country went agog with many supporters nationwide greeting the EC’s declaration with wild jubilations. The wild jubilation informed the warning by the Women’s Organiser.
She acknowledged the fact that the NPP leader, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has been vilified by the rank and file of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for years, but insisted it was uneccesary for NPP supporters to visit same actions on any NDC member.
Otiko Afisa Djaba, was particular against the repeatition of the unfortunate incident which occured at the manifesto launch of the NDC, where some supporters carried a coffin and put Nana Addo’s poster around it.
Some supporters of the NDC on Saturday, September 17, 2016 stormed the Sunyani Coronation Park, venue of the launch of the NDC’s manifesto ahead of this year’s elections, with a coffin bearing posters of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, flag bearer of the NPP.
Speaking on Adom TV on Saturday, Otiko Djaba admonished the NPP supporters to live above that behavior, since two wrongs did not make right.
She assured them that Nana Addo is focused and his government will turn things around in the country to create more jobs for the youth and improve infrastructure development to the benefit of all and sundry.

Otiko, Very nice mockery eehhh.
Otiko now remembers that JM is a first cousin of her mother ehhh.... You should not have been insulting him in public and not expect your supporters to do same. You call your own brother all sort of names just because of politricking... God is watching
Am sorry for the earlier comment is made, I have realized I didn't think before commenting.
God has taken Ghana 🇬🇭 ones again through a successful change of government through the power of the thumb but not the barrel of the gun. Every well-meaning Ghanaian and those residence within our borders should justifiably welcome this as a good 😊 news. We have experienced this phenomenon since 1992, after every eight years. That is why those feeling disappointed should have hope that possibly their choice government could one ☝️ day come back to power, hence the need to overcome this loss and support the incoming government with prayers 🙏 and cooperation. For those of us who are visibly rejoicing and justifiably so should not forget that we have simply voted for humans but not angels 👼 so that we should be modest in our celebration 🎉, bearing in mind that Ghana 🇬🇭 has been this road before. It is my prayer that, the God of all the earth 🌏 will guide the outgoing President to continue to give his best and commission even more infrastructure developments in the coming days with joy and glee. I want to see him mingle with Ghanaians and laugh 😂 off the tension of the last few months. I pray for the President-Elect, that he will pause now and allow this victory and the expectations of Ghanaians and its implications to settle well in his heart before he starts to make very major decisions. I pray that Ghana 🇬🇭 shall become the beacon of Africa and the world 🌎. I pray for economic Prosperity for all Ghanaians. I pray for a Ghana that supports whoever is in power devoid of party colours. I pray for a Ghana 🇬🇭 where the word of God reigns and thrives. May God continue to bless our home land Ghana and make us great and strong 💪. Above all, Jesus is still on the throne. He hasn't moved since 1992, he has remained on his throne since Kwame Nkrumah's era. Put your trust in Him. Still👍 Saving Jesus Campaigns!
However, as a fante man I was thinking that all the development Mahama did in Central Region my people will vote for him but I do not know that my people are the most fooooooo0000ls in Ghana. Is only my fante foooooooooooo000ls that will vote for Asante foooooo000ls to rule them, and this Asante foooo000ls will turn and called them jokers. Ewe people will not do that. They feel pround for their people but my Central Fante foooooo000ls
Wow.
Careful Jonathan Lagos. You don't make such comments. You might probably take the lead to grave.
In Ghana power sweet. let them enjoy themselves its early days yet. Putting people in coffins is normal but should be done in ones stronghold.
I totally agree and as an NPP supporter, I've admonished friends not to encourage those coffin or obituary jokes of the President Mahama. Its true we are growing democracy.... but some of these things must be nipped in the bud. We thank God for Peace of our nation, we thank God for President Mahama and we thank God for our P.E Nana Addo... boss I'm excited about this victory...
