Sources in government has disclosed that a list of 218 vehicles were received from the previous Mahama led NDC government.
The vehicles includes 173 serviceable vehicles and 45 unserviceable vehicles.
It is in that vein that the Director of Communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin, informed the people of Ghana about the over Two Hundred (200) missing vehicles from the presidency.
These 200 vehicles were given to officials of the past NDC government to use and to return same to the Presidency upon being booted out of office.
There are a few facts of this issue:
1. The government received a Total of 218 vehicles.
a. The government received 173 serviceable vehicles.
b. The government received 45 unserviceable vehicles.
According to the incumbent government these are the bare facts.
The list of vehicles with the Registration Number, Make of Vehicle and the Chassis Numbers have been attached.
But on Thursday, Former Deputy Chief of Staff in the previous adminsitration, Johnny Osei Kofi, made public a list of 641 state vehicles that they handed over to the present government.
However, contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo' programme, recently appointed Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Nana Boakye says the NDC should therefore tell the government of the Republic of Ghana who they gave the cars to so that they will be retrieved.
“Cars that are there as I talk now are 173. In fact, the Ford Expedition is not part ... That car is not part of the cars . . . 173 cars, the registration numbers are there. This is a list of cars that comes from Jubilee House. The car’s number, the vehicle’s description, chassis number, and the leader in Jubilee House who’s been given for use and any other thing whether it’s bullet proof or not bullet proof are all there. These are serviceable. Serviceable vehicles at the Flagstaff House are 173...Even Ford Expedition that was given as a gift to the President (John Mahama) and he said he gave that to the government. And that it is government’s and has been registered, and so it’s part of the State cars. It is not part of the vehicles. It’s not there. So, somebody should come and tell us. Somebody should show us where the vehicle is.” he said.
He added that the Ford Expedition that was given to Former President John Dramani Mahama as a gift, which the former President claimed to have added to the fleet of cars at the Flagstaff House, has also gone missing and is nowhere to be found.
The Presidency says the so called 641 cars are not at the presidency.

The Director of Communication at the Presidency, revealed earlier this week that some 200 cars at the presidency had gone missing.
Eugene Arhin said President Akufo-Addo was compelled to use his own four wheel drive for engagements outside Accra or a seven year old BMW salon car when he is in Accra.
The previous government has accused the Akufo-Addo administration of seeking to vilify them.
In a statement on Thursday, former Deputy Chief of Staff, Johnny Osei Kofi, said Mr. Arhin’s claims were “ false, baseless and without merit”, adding that they represented a continuation of the “distortions and bad faith that have characterized the conduct of the NPP side of the Transition team.”
The statement also explained that, “as part of the transition process, both the Assets and Logistics Committee on the NPP side were given a detailed list of all vehicles in the pool at the Presidency. More importantly, a total of 641 vehicles were listed and properly accounted for. This was duly captured in the handing over notes.”
Following the controversy, office of the Administrator General released a list of vehicles that were handed over to the current government by the previous one.
The list comprised 142 Toyota Landcrusers, 8 Toyota Hiluxes, 32 Toyota Avalons, 2, Toyota Fortuners, as well as 58 Toyota Avensis vehicles.

...THAT NDC ARE PROFESSIONAL CAR THIE/VES!!!!!!!
....VERY WELL THAT NDC ARE CELEBRATED CAR ***barred word***!!!!!!!
Eugene Arhin said there were no vehicle for the president so he is using an old 2007 BMW bought for the Ghana@50 program and his own Toyota cross country vehicle, but it has been proven as fact that the fairly new four bullet proof vehicles are present at the flagstaff house. @OJAM, where are the facts, no facts have been presented in this statement. The administrator general is on record to have said 679 vehicles were declared to him. Eugene Arhin said 208 vehicles are missing.173 plus 45 is equal to 218. 218 plus 208 is equal to 426, this clearly does not add up to the 679 the administrator general spoke about, so from which list did Eugene Arhin get the 208 vehicles missing from. The fact is only one, to bring out the list of the 208 missing vehicles, the makes(brand), chassis numbers, and vehicular numbers, that is the only time Ghanaians will believe that indeed the vehicles are missing. This is clear propaganda from the NPP. If indeed those vehicles are missing, then it means they've been stolen, so they should find the perpetrators, arrest them and prosecute them, since they are in power and have all the machinery to find the vehicles and those who took them.
John Quist! I love your comments. Is Ghana's presidency a car garage? Hmmmm. Ey3 as3m oh!!!!
Just watch it, before the dust settles NDC will be floored again like the Vice Pee's new building. Dr. Bawamia said the cost was about $14M. But NDC's Dr. Apaak said it was $5.9M and Aseidu Nketia, the no clue General of NDC, said it was $3.3M. Now, the contractor has come to confirm the actual cost silencing both Aseidu and Apaak. Do you hear them talking anymore after the contractor's revelation? They've kept quiet after insulting and castigating the honorable Dr. 'Prophet' Bawumia. Sam George and Agbenyo, both of NDC, also came on air insinuating that Dr. Bawumia must either stop talking and start work or must just stop doing politics because he's no longer on the campaign trail. Really? NDC people are all liars and s tea lers to core. Period!!
Africa mentality how can u leave power with state properties? what kind of satanic act is that infact this Ndc government is devil i tell u and if u know u have any of government property with u,pls bring it before the laws catch u
all this cars...Is Ghana presidency car garage...What! Schools in Ghana dont have chairs, good classrooms, newly trained teachers are not paid and we have over 600 cars being fuel for use by cheap unproductive politicians...Lord have mercy...Am right for having voted to elect any idxxt as whatever...
The bad state of politics in Ghana. Eugene knows that the so called 'missing cars', including the Ford Expedition, have been intentionally moved from the Presidency by the current administration to create the impression of loot by the past administration. The intention is to make a claim for new purchases so the 'missing cars' can be shared later to party faithfuls. Please, Eugene, lets act with decorum. This attitude will not help Ghana.
The Ford Explorer - Mahama aka se obewia yi, wia ara na obe wia! Despite all the attention on the Ford Explorer, it is still no where to be found!A hardened ***barred word*** indeed.
