Flag bearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has called for preservation of state artefacts and national monuments to be used to teach future generations to come the history of Ghana.
The PPP leader who is well acquainted with the history of the United States of America noted that state properties in the country are well kept and proceeds are generated through tourist who tour such facilities.
He compared the well-kept City Hall of Chicago to the hall of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly noting that the latter is in deplorable state because good materials weren’t used to construct it.
Speaking on ATV’s Ghana Great and Strong programme, the PPP stalwart proposed that every state building in Ghana should be constructed with lasting materials so it can last for ages.
“When building state properties, we should think ahead that we are building something to last for the ages so that Ghana @120years we will have something to write home about”, he said.
He added that “I will encourage all Ghanaians in the diaspora to share their experience with those in Ghana, there are great Ghanaians out there who can be of great benefit to the country”.
“We should build state properties with quality materials which can last for ages, all Ghanaians should contribute in nation building”, he advised.

Sub-standard material costs us, as governments have had to spend more on renovating state buildings. Poor building materials Coupled with poor maintenance culture will leave us with nothing to show our future generation. Thanks for the insight Dr Nduom. Ghana needs you.
substandard has always killed us. but we always go back to it. God save Ghana. Thanks for saying it Kwesi
Well said Dr. Nduom..... Value for Money is key to nation building.
