A diplomat in the Mahama administration and a failed parliamentary candidate for Abuakwa North, Victor Smith, believes that an overhaul of the NDC’s executive structure is non-negotiable following the party’s overwhelming defeat in the 2016 elections.
Everyone from the General Secretary, Johnson Nketia to the NDC’s Chairman, Kofi Poturphy, must be kicked out at the party’s next congress in favour of what Mr. Smith called new “die-hard selfless people.”
Speaking on the Point Blank segment of Eyewitness News, Mr. Smith emphatically that, “we should change the whole guard. We should start with some die-hard selfless people… I think he [Asiedu Nketia] has been there long enough. We should just clean the stables.”
This is in spite of the fact that he sees nothing wrong with maintaining former President John Mahama, who led the NDC to its monumental defeat from a position of incumbency.
He maintained that “if we [the NDC] want to be the ones in the driving seat in 2020, our best bet is the one we put out there already. He [Mahama] did so well but there were some hiccups and that probably led to us losing the elections.”
Mr. Smith however suggested that, President Mahama may have lost his way when he said the party’s executives “should have helped him [Mahama] more than they did. They had the power as a political party to reign in on the President. I think the party was weak in dealing with him.”

There is an Akan adage that states, to wit: 'if you chance on your neighbour's beard on fire, fetch water beside yours'. During the tenure of the NPP in Ex President Kufour's time, I.C. Quaye declared in Ga that the NDC would never come to power. The tell-tale signs then looked bleak for the NDC, but what happened? I think we should leave them to fix themselves up but the NPP should be learning something from their misfortunes in order not to repeat their mistakes. It's all about Ghana and not NPP and NDC!
Asiedu Nketiah has outlived his usefulness. The comic display is too much. They should partner him with Lil Wayne in one of the kumawood movies
Like Mr.Baako said,NDC in opposition is good for Ghana, they come to power to always cause mess and destroy,Mr.Mahama's return is cool chop for NPP.I pray they rot in opposition.
NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU NDC YAAMUTU Too corrupt and incompetent
I do not wish the NDC party well anyway. They are only good when in opposition and mess up big time when in power. Anything that will keep them in opposition forever is good for our country. As for John Mahama the least said about him the better. He is very greedy and has no vision for our country. NDC must present him again so that he will get 20% of the vote.
John Mahama is too corrupt and simply incompetent to rule this country again. Some of his judgements are questionable. Why should he accept a car as a bribe from a foreigner when the state can buy him the same car?
Confusion na yie basaaaa in the NDC, They seem not to no where there are going but very critical on their opponents . NDC seem to be lacking the winning spirit for any general elections
