The ruling government has been asked not to see all critics of the free SHS policy as pessimists.
According to former Deputy Trade Minister, Murtala Mohammed there are discrepancies with the policy and there is the need for government to pay attention to it before ‘it becomes problematic’
“Nobody is a pessimist; for God’s sake all the civil society groups, all the political parties but the NPP; who are raising genuine concerns about the inability of this thing to be implemented the way they claim they want to implement it can’t just be pessimist. It is important we raise the red flag; when we raise genuine concerns, they say you are a pessimist and I don’t understand…look the operational challenge is going to be more…” he said during a panel discussion on Radio Gold's Alhaji and Alhaji, Saturday.
The governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) much touted free Senior High School policy will be fully rolled out on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.
However, the minority have a problem with it. The Minority Leader of Ghana’s Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu has described it as a “hoax” and former Deputy Education Minister, says the policy will not stand the test of time.

Murtala we have heard you but you did not make any impact at all . You are rather creating issues for yourself. Let the NPP implement its free SHS and then you can comments when it taKes off. Mind you the Northern Scholarship is still there it can also be subjected to review if YOU WISH.
Just wants to be heard after defeat!
It is unfortunate, they are the only people complaining in Ghana now but they are most people who have benefited from this country but have refused to pay back to the state hence their create,lo*t and share, gyeeda, sada, suba, nkomfem fly away to Burkina. It is very annoying to see the very people we were compassionate about complaining about any good thing for this country
"..all the civil society groups, all the political parties but the NPP" are raising genuine concerns. Not true, it is not ALL of them. Sometimes these NDC politicians are just plain irritants
It is pessimism if you simply say the operational problems will be more. What new thing happens on this earth without problems? Why not say the problems will come but we are confident that we will overcome them? That will be optimism. OK, so let's say the NDC is going to have more problems, so they should give up and not think about the next elections
It's annoying and disgusting hearing northners chanting about the feasibility of the free she programme. What is there in the north but the program has run for years and you people are benefiting from our toil and sweat and when we are also going to benefit you opened your smelling mouth about sustainability. If it cannot be sustained then the whole program including yours should be scrapped and repackaged to benefit every body Baboon dey work and monkey dey chop. We need our resources to develop our people too
