President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has rubbished the physical projects touted as achievements by the erstwhile John Mahama Administration, saying Ghanaians’ outcry about the awful conditions of their roads everywhere he goes today drops more questions than answers.
“I remember during the election that my opponent kept saying that in his time our country had witnessed unprecedented infrastructural development. When I said I didn’t see it, he said that I was asleep in the car and that was why I didn’t see these good roads.
“But yet everywhere I go, everywhere I go, the first thing people ask me is about their roads. So, this unprecedented infrastructural development – it cannot have been about roads; it must be something else, but certainly not about roads because you yourselves have pointed out how very poor the [road] network is,” he said.
The President was addressing a durbar of paramount chiefs and queens on Wednesday in Bolgatanga to begin his two-day tour of the Upper East Region.
He said “but we are going to work on it. We are going to work on it because we are going to ensure that all the money that is mobilised by the government is spent to deal with the issues that concern our people and they don’t find their way into my pocket or the pockets of my ministers. We are not going to allow that to happen in this country again.”
The President also spoke of the collapse of Ghana’s railway network as one of the “saddest and egregious decisions” the country had ever taken.
He said with emphasis that his government would restore the railway linkage across the country in no time to boost its economy.

mahama is the most incompetent and corrupt president ghana has ever had. posterity will judge u. but for me i witnessed it with my two eyes..the thieveery was too much. corruption corruption crruption...thieeeves
Akuffo seem to fear the come back of the former president John Mahama. He sesizes every opportunity to takes the shine from Mahama the projects started by him. We voted for you to fix things Mahama could not do and that is what you will be judged.Ghanians are the best judge whether the previous NDC did or did not do well in projects. Let's see what you can do.If Kuffour's government in which Nana Addo did all Mahama would not have done anything. Add your bit and stop the talking. Npp knows how well to criticise but very hesitant when the they are criticised.Intolerant democrat
Kwaku Addo, please campaign is over. Work work. Let us see what you can do. After the 1966 coup, you guys Nkrumah did nothing. Please shut your s-t-i-n-k-i-n-g mouth and work and let Ghanaians judge. You talking too much.
Is this president still in campaign mood??? CHIEF JUSTICE, DON'T ALLOW THAT LAZY, CORRUPT AND STEALER, JUSTICE E.K. MENSAH, LANDS HIGH COURT JUDGE TO ADJUDICATE CASES ONLY IN HIS CHAMBERS. HE IS CORRUPT!!!!
"Mr Truth" what you fail to realise is that the President was asked questions of why they have been neglected in the touted "unprecedented infrustracture" of the government as per their road network and he had to answer. Indeed the TRUTH for Mr truth is that the infrastructural projects of the ndc government were SIMPLY EVENUES FOR CREAT, LOOT AND SHARE. The not too distant future prosecutions will shock every Ghanian to the core. Mahama's ndc was simply an evil omen over this nation and the earlier their communicators buried their heads in shame at the crimes they visited on this nation, the better it will be for them.
Unnecessary JABBING. Add more to it & the let Ghanaians be the critics. Ghana has come along way. This is not time for campaigning. Work & ask for the support of honest citizens not azaaaa politicians. Media grow up. Nothing better to sell on line, employee matured minds to the job.
