The ruling Akufo-Addo led government has described as 'baseless' allegations made by the special aide to former President John Dramani Mahama.
The Office of former President John Mahama has accused President Nana Akufo-Addo of sponsoring some media houses to orchestrate lies and spread falsehood against the former President.
Citing a publication on Thursday, 25 January by the Daily Guide and Statesman newspapers about an alleged yet-to-be-released anti-Free SHS publication by the Africa Watch magazine allegedly sponsored by Mr Mahama, the Office of the former president advised President Akufo-Addo to “heed” the advice offered by Mr Mahama vis-à-vis the Free SHS programme “instead of orchestrating attacks based on lies and pedestrian propaganda”.
However, a statement from the presidency in response claims to allege that President Akufo-Addo is “orchestrating attacks” on the person of the former President “based on lies and pedestrian propaganda” without proof or evidence is unbefitting of a spokesperson of a former President.
The statement further indicated that "Daily Guide and Daily Statesman are NOT “government sponsored” newspapers. These newspapers have existed for many years, and the ownership of these papers is a matter of public record. Their general stance on political issues is also well known, predating the Akufo-Addo government".
"We wish to reiterate that President Akufo-Addo holds all former Presidents of the Republic in high regard, and will continue to treat all of them with dignity and respect, as he has consistently demonstrated since assuming the high office of President of the Republic".

RE: STATEMENT IN REACTION TO MALICIOUS PUBLICATIONS AGAINST H.E. THE FORMER PRESIDENT
Government has taken note of a press statement signed by Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to former President John Mahama, and dated January 25, 2018. The statement purports to react to “malicious publications against H.E. the former President”.
Rather, the statement makes a number of baseless allegations against the government and person of the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Government responds as follows:
1. That, Daily Guide and Daily Statesman are NOT “government sponsored” newspapers. These newspapers have existed for many years, and the ownership of these papers is a matter of public record. Their general stance on political issues is also well known, predating the Akufo-Addo government.
2. That, to proceed on that false premise to attack the President is disingenuous.
3. To specifically allege that President Akufo-Addo is “orchestrating attacks” on the person of the former President “based on lies and pedestrian propaganda” without proof or evidence is unbefitting of a spokesperson of a former President.
4. President Akufo-Addo is busy fixing the mess and rot that was bequeathed to him by the Mahama government, and, therefore, does not have the luxury of time to indulge in orchestrations of lies and propaganda
5. That it is curious for the spokesperson of the former President to be issuing a statement denying that he is attacking the Free SHS programme, whilst that very same statement seeks to disparage the programme.
It is interesting that it is the spokesperson of former President Mahama who is urging Ghanaians to demand from the Akufo-Addo government “an improvement from the poor-governance it is serving this country.” We wish, in answer, to recall the words of the Vice President of the Republic, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in his address at the New Year School, at Legon, when he stated:
“The question that we should ask is how can you inherit a budget deficit of 9.3% of GDP, proceed to reduce taxes, bring down inflation, bring down interest rates, increase economic growth (from 3.6% to 7.9%), increase your international reserves, maintain relative exchange rate stability, reduce the debt to GDP ratio and the rate of debt accumulation, pay almost half of arrears inherited, stay current on obligations to statutory funds, restore teacher and nursing training allowances, double the capitation grant, implement free senior high school education and yet still be able to reduce the fiscal deficit from 9.3% to an estimated 5.6% of GDP? Quite simple, this is a remarkable achievement and this is what we mean by competent economic management.”
We wish to reiterate that President Akufo-Addo holds all former Presidents of the Republic in high regard, and will continue to treat all of them with dignity and respect, as he has consistently demonstrated since assuming the high office of President of the Republic.

WANING::!!!Every refugee receives passport given by United Nations. Never on this earth refugee receive the passport of that country except Ghana. Do our parlimantarians know law regarding refugees? Even refugee have to stay a while at least 5 years before he/she can apply for that country's nationality. If accepted then he/she can apply for travel documents such as passport. Therefore the whole thing concern these Guantanamo 2 is wrong and fault. They have to apply their refugee status from Ministry of Interior and if granted then 5 years later as for citizenship. It will be totally wrong if the government fail to follow this refugee or international law. Ghanaians are watching oo. We live in Europe and this is what we go through or the process we follow. How can Ghana be so loose and cheap because of few money. Look what happened to our fellow brothers in Libya and Arab countries like Quatar etc.
Why would the President spent time on something as fuulish as this when the people are crying for jobs? How did she qualify to be an aide. Oh ok, appointed by Mr Mahama. Mahama is a tragic experiment in the political history of man. He would as well be a fantastic couch of demons- telling, stealing stealing state funds and facilitating hardship. As to how and why that man managed to become president remains a mystery question that still need answers.
It amuses me whenever the NDC guys and girls use the word INCOMPETENCE for the NPP and anyone not associated to the NDC. It is known in the Guinness Book of Records that the longest serving political party in the 4th republic of Ghana, the NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (NDC), has patented that word INCOMPETENCE. They are thus going to surcharge anyone who uses the word for any other entity apart from the NDC. That is why Dr Bawumia concluded his New Year School message with the phrase "Quite simple, this is a remarkable achievement and this is what we mean by competent economic management.” No other political party in Ghana can be incompetent apart from the NDC, so Bawa Mogtari should note.
Ndc will never come power, so they should stop false allegations.
2 more years to 2020 and NPP has done nothing!
NDC AND ITS MEMBERS SHOULD LEAVES NPP GOVERNANCE OOOO. THESE NDC's ARE NOT ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES. HABA NDC LIES PARTY. NDC's SHOULD GIVE GHANAIANS A BRAKE. YOU PEOPLE WILL NEVER EVER COME TO POWER AGAIN. ONLY GATEMO CASE ALONE HAS DISCREDIT YOU PEOPLE. EX PRESIDENT MAHAMA DONT HAVE NO PASSION FOR GHANAIANS AT ALL ONLY HIS STOMACH
NPP should stop blaming other people for the confused policy of FREE SHS. Poor implementation and incompetence is what the problem is. AFRICA WATCH magazine hasn't collapsed your poor work. Deal with it.
Mustapha Hamid has a lot of work to do. He clears everything that is wrong with this incompetent NPP government. If he is not clearing, then they are UNAWARE. Confusion soooooo.
Sh*thole of a country. NPP has turn Ghana into a SH*THOLE. Nothing good is happening. What a MISTAKE. We are hungry.
