The Eastern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Bismark Tawiah Boateng, has said the unity of the party is blossoming to its highest peak and for that reason, members and supporters of the party should not do anything to derail the effort.
In an interview with the Daily Graphic in Koforidua, he also called on the members and supporters of the party not to rush to the media to settle personal differences.
He noted that the party had laid down procedures to resolve all issues and, therefore, those who were fond of washing the party’s dirty linen in public must desist from that.
Aspirants warned
Mr Boateng warned that aspirants who in their campaigns traded insults against one another would be summoned before the disciplinary committee for the necessary punitive measures to be taken.
According to him, 95 per cent of the branch elections had been held, with just a few challenges in six polling stations out of 107 in the Afram Plains North Constituency, while three petitions had been received from Nsawam.
He said the regional executive committee would endeavour to settle all differences before the constituency elections were held on June 23, 2020.
Enthusiasm
According to Mr Boateng, unlike the 2015 biometric registration exercise, this time around enthusiasm was very high, adding that most polling stations had recorded huge numbers.
"We are on course so far as the Eastern Region is concerned. People are now rushing for nomination forms to contest positions at the constituency level and this has rekindled the NDC spirit," he added.
Electoral college
Mr Boateng said the constituency electoralcollege which hitherto had four people from a polling station voting at the constituency level had been expanded to nine people, adding that that was to give more representation to party members.
He warned that nobody should be prevented from picking nomination forms or disqualified "since it is the vetting committee which can disqualify any aspirant".
Appreciation
The Eastern regional chairman thanked all members of the party who contributed to the success of the polling station election, particularly the regional and constituency executives and other individuals.

Yeap, not Nana Konadu alone, tell them to walk with President Rawlings for us to believe them. Even this unity walk, Zenator Agyeman Rawlings is not included so who are they foo**ooling? Let them walk to the moon and tickle themselves they will lose in every election in Ghana because none of them leading this party now is credible. It will be better for them to retire Mahama and his friends and cronies and hand over to somebody credible like Zenator Agyeman Rawlings who is not known to be greedy and selfish and see if that party won't be attractive to pick up. It will be in their interest to allow Zenator to work on the party even if for 12 years because she is young for the party to be attractive with new faces and credible people than leaving it to John mahama to destroy it. John mahama will lose 2020 because he has no message to tell Ghanaians than to insult the government and the president which will never win him votes, and after he will still try to come back because with even the percentage that he will get,he will still think he has some support and that will break the ndc to collapse. Remember, PNC political fortune their presidential candidates won't let go that position even when their percentages were dropping. In any world, how on earth would a sitting president who has been defeated massively, humiliatingly and unprecedented ever think of even coming back to contest, when he knows very well he did absolutely nothing to help the people but created, l000000*00ted and shared the resources with his friends, cronies and family and has no message to convince the people what he is going to do differently to better their lives than insulting his opponents, only and only John mahama from Bole will do this.
bring konadu back then i will believe theres unity
scratch your anoose and laugh. We are here in Ghana.
