Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Kweku Baako Jnr has confirmed the existence of a third party in the Anas-Nyantakyi saga.
The former boss of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, had alleged that prior to the airing of the exposé, he was contacted to make a payment of $150,000 to Tiger Eye PI team so that the video, which unearthed unbridled corruption within the GFA, would not be presented for public viewing.
"Let me also confirm that there was a demand on me through a third party to part with $150,000 for Anas to drop the videos on me. I didn’t have the said amount of money to meet his demand," the embattled former GFA boss said in an eight page statement.
He further added that he made available an amount of $100,000 for the movie remaining a balance of $50,000.
A claim which the Tiger Eye PI team has flatly denied.
The ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in a sharp rebuttal described Mr Nyantakyi’s claim as a “complete fabrication, a figment of his imagination.”
Contributing to a panel discussion on Wednesday’s edition of Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Kweku Baako confirmed that indeed there is a third party, but would rather Mr Nyantakyi names the individual.
The Seasoned Journalist further disclosed that days before the premiere of the Number 12 investigative piece, that third party tried to ‘compromise’ the documentary “but now that Kwesi Nyantakyi is the one making the allegation, he should mention the name and I will also come out with mine and we will see who is telling the truth”.
“...Nyantakyi is the one making the allegation; there is a third party; he should mention the name of the third party…The lawyer attempted to compromise the integrity of this project…so there is indeed a third party. It is important that once he’s decided to go along that path he mentions the third party…this is a good opportunity; identify the third party…let’s put the third party on the spot. As soon as the third party is identified, I will make the evidence available…on air for everybody to listen; for Ghanaians to judge for themselves...” he indicated.

Kwaku Baako is a dogg
@Asante....Please don't disgrace the name Asante to write this bias comments. Every coin has two sides. You guys have manufactured your stories already let us hear the side of his story. He helped the Black stars to qualify for the World cup three times and the U-20 won the World cup in Egypt. Imposter@Asante, Is that how to say thank you? Don't be ungrateful
How is this Nyantakyi guy thinking that we’re fuuls in this country. He should give us some credit cos we can think. Even a primary one pupil can clearly see through this things he is going round to say that Anas demanded hundred and fifty thousand dollars as a bribe to kill the story. Doesn’t Nyantakyi who said he is a lawyer knows that it will surely cost Anas to do the investigation which lasted for 2years. How will Anas be bribed in this whole case to kill the story since it was a collaboration between TigerIPI and the BBC. how is Anas going to stop BBC with hundred and fifty thousand dollars to kill the story. Someone who is really close to Nyantakyi and is reasoning well should tell Nyantakyi to shush. Nyantakyi should shut his b-e-a-k. He has destroyed Ghana football and he should be ashamed of himself.
Kwaku Baako said last time that Kwasi Nyatekyi has stepped into a quick sand. And my reply to you is this" You guys created the mess and Kwasi is already in it. So, you Baako and Anas are the next to join him. Kwasi is now "Anoma Santrofie" When catch it you have a problem and if you leave it another problem. So, you guys have bitten more than to chew..
Hafiz has said worse things more than Ken and Kwasi combined. Hafiz claimed that Anas took $50,000 bribe from him to drop his case. How come you can not comment or sue him for defamation of character? If you can not sue him then what Kwasi is saying might be true.
By virtue of siding with Nyantakyi regardless of his methodology, you are utterly korrupt. If you are inkorruptible, no amount of baiting, blackmailing or what have you will make you receive the money. As a typical Ghanaian I will be at a loss if you could resist taking the bribe.
Nyantakyi paa, you have taken the mans GHC 65,000 free and you want to just add GHC35,000 to kill the story. You should have at least matched the GHc 65,000 to save your face. wo ye cheap paa
So Ghanaians love corruption after all? Se how the support and justify Nyantekyi's actions.
Hello Kweku. On the contrary, you were the first to talk about a 3rd Party attempting to compromise the 'so called' investigative piece from being aired. You even went ahead to talk about the person being a lawyer. Your's was way before the Nyantekyi 8-page response came up. Whichever way anyone chooses to look at it, You and the so-called Anas have patnered with your colonial master BBC to bring down a son of Ghana and Africa from potentially taking a shot at the FIFA ultimate seat. It is an obvious Pull-Him-Down (PHD) job. Some of us are such disgusted at you. We are not in the least convinced by your explanations. It is such a disappointment of your caliber as a person.
We inn for a longe battle it not ceasing anytime soon.
