The leader of the Loyal Ladies group of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ms. Perpetual Lomokie-Akwanda, says the passing of the ROPPA law by the Parliament of Ghana, has created a new avenue for organizing and mobilization of voters in the diaspora towards the 2020 elections.
She observed that the prevailing political dynamics point to a future where national elections would be decided, in part, by the turnover of votes from Ghanaians living in the diaspora.
Ms Lomokie-Akwanda made these remarks at the swearing in ceremony of newly elected officers of the NPP-USA Baltimore Chapter, as part of her recent tour of the United States.
She applauded the vision by President Nana Akufo-Addo to open an office at the Jubilee House, to coordinate and harmonize activities of Ghanaians in the diaspora in line with the implementation of the ROPPA law that seeks inclusion of all Ghanaians living abroad in the electoral political processes that take place in Ghana.
The Loyal Ladies leader entreated the newly elected executives of the NPP-USA Baltimore chapter to work harder to spread the manifesto of the NPP and to recruit new members to join the party.
The President of the newly elected executive Committee of the Maryland chapter of the NPP, Prof Austin Nathan, assured the party of the full commitment of the NPP-USA Baltimore chapter in organizing and fund raising to enable NPP to retain power in 2020. Prof Nathan urged the Ghanaian diaspora community to take full advantage of the political opportunity opened by the NPP government under the ROPPA law to have their voices heard in national elections. Dr. Tina Abrefa-Gyan, Vice Chairman for NPP USA entreated the branch to refocus on mobilization of members and fundraising to support the NPP in Ghana.
Ms. Lomokie-Akwanda also paid a courtesy call on Ghana's Ambassador to the USA, Dr. Barfour Adjei-Barwuah in Washington DC.
She commended the Ambassador for projecting a positive image for the NPP government and Ghana as whole, by providing diplomatic and professional services to all Ghanaians resident in the USA. Ambassador Adjei Bawuah thanked Ms. Lomokie and her group for their humanitarian work especially in the areas of health outreach to deprived villages in Ghana.
Ms Lomokie-Akwanda met and interacted with NPP branches in Maryland, New York, Colorado, Illinois, Virginia and Washington DC as part of a collaborative effort between the NPP USA and NPP Loyal Ladies to help in mobilizing young women in Ghana for a resounding victory in election 2020. A number of Ladies belonging to the NPP loyal ladies group have already visited the USA as part of this collaborative effort with another batch due to visit later on in the year for a training program.
In Europe, Ms. Lomokie-Akwanda interacted with young Ghanaian women in Switzerland and France. She explained the vision behind the formation of the Loyal Ladies group and called for their support expanding the outreach programs of the group. She also paid a call on Ghana’s Ambassador to Switzerland H.E. Ramses Joseph Cleland.
The NPP Loyal Ladies currently have six overseas branches.

Whatever you think, NPP abroad will never vote for ndc akronfuo party! "YES" of course they talk about it doesn't mean they will vote ndc or they won't vote for ndc to win. The evil of the NPP is the angel of the ndc so we prefer the evil NPP to the angel ndc aaah! but who will vote for the ndc apart from their ndc footsoldiers abroad who are not even 1/10 of the population of Ghanaians abroad. Hahahahaha! think of the NPP instead of organizing your party and selling out your vision to make your party attractive, NPP has solid voters who are ever ready to retain them in power, than avoiding to allow ndc come back, we will never make that mistake again! We in the diaspora are aware keeping the ndc members in positions at the harbour are sabotaging the President's vision and we are asking the government to fire those people or transfer them to where they wouldn't be able to sabotage, which we are still not satisfied keeping them there. Tickle yourselves and laugh like 2016 and you will eat Kenkey sakora (no fish). We at the diaspora are ever determined to keep ndc in opposition. That guy in that video trending is an ndc man, who has never sent anything home but doing politics, look at him with that camouflage and see if this guy is living a good life wherever he is? tweeaaa! what work is he doing to be able to send things home? Only a ***barred word*** will believe him, not all that glitters in abroad are gold, some are finding it tough in Trump's America ! tweeeaaa! taku mbo tro so! He has nothing, an African market akpeteshie drunkard!
The way most people are now against the npp government ropaa would be a curse for them in 2020. They shouldn't think ropaa would be to their advantage because since they assumed office they have disappointed the diaspora with their tariffs at the port making things hard for those who lived outside.
