Former Information minister Mustapha Hamid has observed that his former job is the most difficult in government aside the finance ministry.
In his view, the role is seemingly compounded by the perception in the minds of the public that the Information minister must be the repository of knowledge.
“Apart from the Finance Minister’s job which is the most difficult, I think the Information Ministry is the next that is difficult to work in,” Hamid who is now minister for Inner Cities and Zongo Development told Starr FM Tuesday.
He however stressed he has confidence in Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah as his replacement.
“I have absolute confidence in Oppong-Nkrumah. I chose him to be my Deputy when the President gave me the opportunity to choose my deputy. I have 120% confidence in him. He can do the job”.
President Akufo-Addo in his maiden ministerial reshuffle elevated the former radio host to a substantive minister after deputising Hamid since the formation of the government.
Hamid who served many years as spokesperson for the then opposition leader, Nana Akufo-Addo, now president, expressed gratitude for the relationship the media has maintained with him.
“The kind of cooperation and support I get from the media after entering the new Ministry is evident. I built a good relationship with the Media over the time. I feel very satisfied that all that I have spent time studying can be applied. As a Zongo Boy, I owed the community. I have taught in various makaranta schools but I think there is more I can do”.

THE FORMER ALBINO INFO MINISTER IS LUCKY TO BE REASSIGNED, HE SHOULD GO AND MANAGE ZONGOS THAT IS ALL.
The president need to sack him. He speaks as if he is teaching a makaranta class. This is a serious business of governance. You talk little and do more ground work. Probably the best job for him is to be appointed deputy to Kennedy agyepong because he is wasting tax payers money and doing nothing.
Hamid you dey talk too much. I wonder if there are watchers in our government. You render the President ***barred word*** when you keep saying you chose your deputies, you decided and lobbied the Zongo Ministry. So what did the President do? Was he sharing the positions like kebabs?
@Joe. Wo kasa..ooo. Hmmmmmm.
Its the cheapest job in government. All you need to do is to speak the truth exactly as it is. You just need to be transparent about what the government is doing and hopes to do in future in clear language. But during your era, you lied to extent that most of your party members were angry with you. That probably is the reason why nana addo replaced you by demoting you with your deputy. At least with your zongo people they can easily forgive you if you keep lying to them. Learn to speak the truth and stop the lies and nothing will be difficult for you.
