General Secretary of National Democratic Congress says the government should expedite action on plans to disband vigilante groups including those loyal to the New Patriotic Party, if it has the peace of Ghana at heart.
Johnson Asiedu Nketia said they are on red alert to unleash their vigilante groups should any party member come under attack.
“If you want peace, you must prepare for war. We will disband our vigilante groups if the NPP does same. We won’t allow party vigilante to take over security of Ghana,” he fumed.
General Mosquito as he is popularly called, has come under a barrage of attacks after defending the fresh emergence of vigilante groups in the NDC.
He explained that, the emergence of groups like Hawks, Dragons and Lions are “an appropriate natural response” to the failure of the Akufo-Addo government to rein in its party vigilante groups.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday, Asiedu Nketia said the criticism about his position is borne out of hypocrisy.
He stated that it has become necessary by the failure of the NPP to rein in its vigilante groups, who had since the party’s electoral victory, had “virtually over-powered the state security and rendered them ineffective in their bid to protect life and property of fellow citizens”.
The NDC scribe alleged that the same NPP vigilante groups unlawfully seized two NDC party vehicles under bizarre circumstances, and said those vehicles were still in the custody of the Jubilee House security, even after submission of all the relevant documents to the transport officer there.
Asiedu Nketia said he is ready to face the National Security if an attempt to protect life and property is deemed a national security threat.

I think the press or media should redefine the mode of operations in this country, if care is not taking, through their actions, the nation may wake up one in turmoil, remember what happened in Rwanda and?, I pray this political discussions should be controlled or stopped, until election time, if they want to discuss something, they should use or call the know how's or professional men, I think it will help the nation that way than these utterances.
FOOOLISSSH MAN
If you give an idi000t a gold chain and a designer dress to wear with no where to go,what do you think will happen? he will go to the mud to play football and then another time wear ladies mantle to meet a world leader, such magnitude is where Ghana's politics has gone since 1992. The other surprising thing is,this idi00000*t is being asked by some of the ndc elders to contest! isn't it amazing? even in the 1950s- 2960s the time we Call colo and archaic, they never had f000**00ls like Asiedu Nketiah ,Koku Anyidoho,Adongo, Kwaku Boahen and co in their politics but look at today that we call technological days and enlightened idi000**00ts who wouldn't never had,had that chance to disgrace this country are giving the chance to select our leaders and misbehave and nobody say nothing! Ghana is a shithole nation with these f0000**ls parading as executive officers of a political party.
I don't understand why this man is always saying things that dont bring development of this country . WHAT DOES HE WANT FROM GHANAIANS AT ALL ?
In this country all we think about is elections 24/7 We ave to beat war drums all the time why Can we progress with this attitude.
This man is a still a ***barred word*** at this age? I am surprise because I knew him to be "insane" but for a while I put him in normal class because of his age but he's proved me wrong by these utterances. Well, as they say, once a "mad" man, always a "mad" man.
