Mr Salisu Be-Awuribe, the Northern Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has appealed to government to take the needed steps and provide relief support to the affected victims of the Bagre Dam spillage.
He said many are disappointed in government's delay at responding to the plight of the people.
Mr Be-Awuribe made the appeal on Monday at the press conference organised by the newly elected regional executive committee of the Party.
The press conference was aimed at expressing the Party’s concern at the Bagre Dam spillage, which claimed seven lives and destroyed thousands of acres of farmland and thereby affecting the livelihoods of over 100,000 people.
He said considering the intensity of the destruction caused by the flood, the authorities are expected to promptly come to the aid of victims with the needed support that would alleviate their plight.
Mr Be-Awuribe expressed sympathy to the families of the victims along the flood plains of the White Volta River.

Why are we so corrupt as people? What are we going to use all the st0l1ng monies for? Why don't we think the future for the country involving all than oneself. To loot for money and present themselves as the Messiahs to take the nation from poverty and underdevelopment by paying for votes to win elections. Why do we always like the poor to suffer? God we need answers from you. So where are all these monies? Where have they kept them? In Ghana or elsewhere? Why are our politicians so c0rrupt? They steel (th1eve) and use it for political campaign, win elections and continue to fleece the nation. See Sylvester Mensah whole fleece NHIS now wanting to become President. Alban Bagbin, where are the Ambulances, receiving double pay - want to become a President. God visit your anger on these who always want to see the majority in distress. Where is Awuah Darko, Julius Debra, John Mahama, Martin Amidu, Akufo Addo? Who is a clean politician in Ghana? I cant think far. Somebody to rescue this nation from the Evil Politicians. I weep for this country. The same type of politicians in both the NDC and NPP recycled.
USE THE MONEY YOU STOLE FROM US TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO THEM.IDIOOOOT
Give some of the stolen money to them. Daawa
Why only express sympathy? Can't you do something - even one bag of sachet water? The time and resources you used to organise the press conference could have been directed at helping the victims if you are so concerned about their plight. Sh!th0les
