Kwesi Pratt, Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, says Ghanaians are suffering under the Akufo-Addo government.
Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Kwesi Pratt wondered why leaders of the nation are toying with the lives of Ghanaians by playing politics with the economy.
The downward spiral of the cedi against the U.S. dollar and other major currencies, as well as the prevailing harsh economic environment, has been a source of bother to the general public, most especially business operators.
The local currency has neared the GHS5: US$1 mark.
The frequent increase in the price of fuel has also worsened the situation
Commenting on the recent hikes in fuel prices, the seasoned journalist asked why the leaders and socio-economic commentators instead of addressing the plight of the citizenry, rather go about trading in terminologies and using jargons to confuse Ghanaians.
Terms like "GDP percentage, debt ratio and so forth"; he wondered if such would bring bread and butter to the table.
He therefore called on the government to address concerns of Ghanaians on the fuel price increment and cedi depreciation among others by fixing the economy, saying "we’re suffering. The President has admitted that we’re suffering. So, where from the percentage of GDP, debt ratio and so forth; it’s all not taking us forward but we keep retrogressing? That is the point! So, these things we say don’t help anyone. It doesn’t help the government. It doesn’t help opposition. It helps nobody”.

Akuffo Addo is wasting time to jail people like Kwesi Pratt, who helped Mahama to 'siphon' our money. Those who are crying on the roof top are the economic saboteurs. Which sensible human being will support the NDC Party after they created, looted, and shared.
Here he is again. You and who are suffering?. Where are the booty that you received for nothing done for Ghana during JDM time. Stop the good for nothing noise, for no one cares about you after helping to loot the state. Shame on you long teeth pratt.
You and who are suffering massa, Becos you people are not getting freebies under this capable gov;t, you guys are crying foul eiii you will cry blood wai.
Pratt was enjoying under Mahama when GDP was 3.2%, debt to GDP ratio was 74%, inflation was over 20% and interest rates were over 30% because he was getting free cash, free fuel, cheap V8 etc. Now that all the above indicators are better, Pratt is suffering, because his source of free/fraudulent income has been curtailed. REALITY has now downed on this stuuuuuuuuuupiddd 1diot. FIRE BURN YOU!
I thought you still have your whiteboard to hold press conferences to calculate the real fuel prices since you control the oil prices in the world, and even powerful than OPEC. Na nia ma! Who born dog!
i say Pratt o Pratt where were you when Mahama was in power infact you are a damm hypocrite and a ***barred word***
We have been suffering from Adam and Eve days Kwesi.
The economic Conditions under the NDC and NPP is nothing to be proud of. the ingredient of lies is too much in Africa politics. Africa must rethink!
When you were buying V8 at cheap prices did you think about what you are doing to the economy. Every money that is stolen from Ghana through any means has its effect on the economy. What we are experiencing today is the effect of stealing through inflated project prices. A typical example is the Helicopter purchase at Ghana Gas. You borrow money to do projects and steal the same money through inflated prices for the citizenry to pay.
This your unguided suffering statement will not washed. It now clear to Ghanaians the you were getting something free from Mahama then
