General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, says the minority exhibited "immaturity" by their conduct in Parliament on Tuesday.
He says as elected Members of Parliament (MPs) who carry the mandate of the people, they ought to know better and ought not to have acted the way they did.
He was commenting on the Minority's decision to stage a walk out during the swearing-in of the newly elected MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, Hon Lydia Seyram Alhassan, whiles brandishing placards with "bloody widow" inscribed on them.
Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, John Boadu pointed out that the country has moved beyond this stereotype kind of politics.
"There are other Members of Parliament who have been to Parliament through similar circumstances, yet we do not describe them as "bloody men or women". You see, when we do our politics this way, you will have the whole world laughing at us," he noted.
"This whole violence thing was planned by the NDC because they were ill prepared for the elections, and now they want to hold somebody accountable for their actions. They should be ashamed of themselves," he stated.
Clearly unhappy with the conduct of the NDC MPs, the NPP Chief Scribe was of the view that, this is the period where women need to be encourage to take up such roles in the decision-making process of the country, and not to be needlessly harrassed.
"In anycase, who are they to even say that they don't recognize her as a Member of Parliament or not. Are they the ones to determine who becomes an MP? They should give us a break," he added.
Meanwhile, the newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan says she has forgiven the Minority MPs who described her as a bloody widow during her swearing-in.

Please, by ethics of Ghanaian culture, I will boldly ask the widow (Maa Lydia) if she really describe her self as the widow of the late MP? Because a widow supposed to stay indoors for a specific period of time, and refrain from public activities.so how come did she stand for an election and being sworn in as a sitting MP; Is she going to go to the house and begin working? The time to reason up is now!!!!
In every elections there are schemishis which most of the times are sparked by the losers. The NDC as a party, threw in the towel before the battle actually begun. They must keep themselves from crying over the spilled milk. Na who causam? Awuah Darko could not stand the might of the WOUGONNIENS who was DELALI! our foot!
But the country has not moved beyond winning elections through brutality?
