Former Communications Minister in the erstwhile John Mahama administration, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has hit hard at the Akufo-Addo government accusing him of "promising heaven but delivering hell".
According to him, Ghanaians have seen through what this current administration stands, claiming unbearable hardships as a result of astronomical fuel price increases, unfulfilled electoral promises and job losses have become the order of the day.
Contributing to a panel discussion on Radio Gold’s "Alhaji and Alhaji" programme, Dr. Omane Boamah said the NPP government has so failed to honour its numerous campaign promises, which won them political power.
“We are dealing with a government that came into office on the back of major promises; promising heaven and delivering hell. Hardships and when I talk about hardships, I am talking about fuel prices; if you ask yourself today, are you buying fuel less than what you were buying it 2 years and 3 months ago? The answer is an emphatic no. Juxtapose that with the promise that the NPP offered”, he averred.
“Talk to the civil servants, even releases for them to be able to push paper for them to be able to do their work, year in year out, this government has been running acutely severe arrears. I am sure Ghanaians are very much aware of the extent of job losses, not just to talk about job losses at the banking sector alone which are very obvious as we heard the victims talk about it in public”, he chided.
He patted the back of the Minority in Parliament led by Hon. Ato Forson for enumerating some of the reported job losses and potential job losses that this country is facing; reiterating that the economy under President Akufo-Addo and his government is indeed in shambles.
He asserted that the job losses within the banking sector is as a result of the "reckless, vindictive and targeted policies of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration"; adding that many companies have also laid off workers due to unfair and high electricity tariffs.
“The effect of the bad economy has been that even Beer price has increased. The other effect has been that Yoghurt, even that is not spared, and so beyond the rent, food prices, fuel, transportation cost and all have gone up. This is a government that promised that they were going to deliver heaven and this is what they are delivering”, he slammed.

If the price of yogurt has increased then will the solution be to vote out the NPP and bring who to power, the NDC? So far any wrong thing the NDC has complained about the NPP equally happened during the NDC era. So if I am looking for a solution then it cannot be the NDC who is equally guilty. But the good things under NPP never happened when NDC was in power. Better Economic indicators, Free SHS, Ghana Card, Paperless systems, Railways revamping, Planting for Food and Jobs, 1D1F, Dams, Warehouses, Tax abolishing & reduction, Electricity tariff reduction etc.
These young inexperienced NDC folks moved from one radio station to the other during Kuffuor's era complaining about everything, including Yaa Naa. Unfortunately Ghanaians fell for their deception and voted for the NDC and all the young folks had appointments. We all saw how their performances were abysmal due to lack of experience. They are back repeating what they did during Kuffuor's era thinking they will be lucky again. I'll advice them to invest the monies they looted meaningfully because they will be in opposition for "God knows how long"

Fellow Ghanaians, something seems to be going on in the country, the NDC have resolved to distract the attention of the current administration from solving the problems facing the country. Each day one or two former ministers or deputy ministers drops a topic attacking the current government. If it is not Murtala Mohammed,it is that boy Ofosu Kwakye or another. Today it is Omane Boamah, let serious minded Ghanaians know that these tricks wont bring the growth the country needs but an alternative policies would spur us all on to adopt what is best for the country. Away with the PULL HIM DOWN syndrome!!!!!
