The National Democratic Congress (NDC) seems to have finally found trust in the operations of the National Identification Authority (NIA), ordering its members to register for the Ghana Card.
The Ghana Card is the new National Identification Card.
NDC had on July 23, 2018, ordered its members not to sign up for the Ghana Card until its demand for the inclusion of the Voters’ ID card as one of the requirements for registration was met.
NIA had argued back then that the voters’ ID cards were not valid for acquiring the Ghana Card but the NDC through its General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, insisted that without the inclusion of the voters’ Card, its members would not register.
Interestingly, even though the NIA held onto its stance, the NDC has made a U-turn, urging its members to now register.
The decision, DGN Online understands, was taken at the NDC’s National Executive Committee (NEC’s) recent meeting.
Snippets of information from the meeting available to DGN Online read “members (NEC’s members) were urged to inform party members to get registered under Ghana Card.”
It remains unclear what has changed that the NDC has chosen to rescind its decision of nonregistration which was highly criticized.

The Ndc's inconsistency on New register is exposing the party to incompetent one. Now they realise that they are losing the executives quickly made a u-turn to order their myopic followers to for Ghana Card. By the way,
Nana, I also thought you are a serious citizen. You are pointing your one lazy finger at a poor journalist not realizing that three of your lazy fingers are naturally pointed at you. When did you hear that Parliament has ratify that law to include voters ID. Nana read oo read.
ELDER KIDNAPPER
Look at $HO-A FACE OFOSU AMPOFO.
The secret is that, the NDC MPs who said their party members should not register to collect the Ghana Card have all gone 'nicodemously' to collect theirs. They are now afraid that their members will eventually find out and cause trouble for them. The obvious thing is for them to tell their members to get the card. And this card will be used for the new voters register in 2020. They will make noise, I mean the NDC, but eventually if they refuse the card, we shall all see who will lose. NDC people, use your brains and think for yourselves. You always listen to your leaders at your own risk. This is a free and friendly advice.
@ nana, i can assure you that nothing has changed, they thought by saying no something can change, its take it or leave it, i know some ndc mps who secretly have gotten theirs, the card will be useful for all transactions, when you cant think big and someone is thinking for you too, instead of saying thank you, you rather make incompetent noises. Cant you people see Ghana is changing gradually
This is yet another proof of the kindergarten behaviour of the "INCOMPETENT ONES". The voters' ID is still NOT accepted as proof of identity. In fact, nothing has changed! The only thing that changed is the children-politicians to realize that their decision not to partake in the exercise is complete 1diocy. For the NDC's information, that s*i*l*ly directive from their party was ignored by sensible members of the NDC. A bunch of jokers!
EXCUSE ME TO SAY THAT ONLY F*O*O*LS DON'T CHANGE THEIR MINDS.
STOP DOING THE LAZY JOURNALISM AND FIND OUT FROM THE NIA SECRETARIAT WHEATHER OR NOT THE VOTERS ID IS ACCEPTED NOW OR NOT. THIS IS HOW SERIOUS AND PROFFESIONAL JOURNALIST WORK BEFORE COMING PUBLIC. ENOUGH OF YOUR FOOLING.... YOU HAVE BRAINS TOOO
