Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah says former President John Dramani Mahama's comment on the Komenda sugar factory is “unfortunate” – and wants him to 'shut up'.
Mahama over the weekend advised government against disposing off the Komenda Sugar Factory in the Central Region.
He said selling off the factory as suggested by government would not be in the interest of the people of Ghana.
“I heard recently that the government wants to sell the factory and it is unacceptable since this is an investment put together by the government of Ghana,” he said.
But, Carlos Ahenkorah, in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’. explained that the factory lacks “so many things”. According to him, the factory can only process brown sugar and cannot turn sugar-cane into sugar as Ghanaians have been made to believe.
“You can’t build a factory with no raw materials available. It’s a shame. He should shut up,” he said.

I am surprise Ahenkorah is telling John Mahama to shut up, he rather should ***barred word***, what has done for his own people, the freight forwarder association he is rather letting them to suffer, he was the president before being an MP and now a minister, he is still a member because he has all his offices in place in Tema and Takoradi, he dont know his own people are against him and he should know that he is going to loose his sit, he should go to Akyim to fight for his seat in parliament. Ahenkorah ***barred word*** and dont bring yourself.
