A member of the Communication and Legal teams of the National Democratic Congress [NDC], Abraham Amaliba says his party will officially file an application to the court in an appeal to withdraw charges against their deputy Communication Director who has been linked with Chairman Ofosu-Ampofo’s leaked tape.
Kwaku Boahen on February 27, 2019 – day after Mr Ofosu-Ampofo’s leaked tape surfaced the net confirmed that indeed the voice and very utterances heard on the tape are that of Mr Ofosu-Ampofo.
In an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, ‘Ghana Montie’, Kweku Boahen who claimed was at the said meeting said “We the party [NDC communication] members are very happy of what our Chairman said and we will do exactly that. What he said is dear to our hearts that is why we clapped for him during the meeting which was recorded and leaked.”
His comments landed him into ‘troubles’ which he later denied his presence at the meeting.
He has together with his party Chairman, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo charged of conspiracy to cause harm and assault on a public officer - but, both granted bail in the sum of Gh¢100,000 with one surety.
Speaking on the issue on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, Abraham Amaliba described Kweku Boahen’s utterances as “unfortunate”.
According to him, “What he [Kweku Boahen] said is just a political talk.”

You forgot to add that man called Adongo and the Accounts Clerk, Ato Forson.
You are perfectly wright. We are about to witness exactly what happened in 2016 if not worse. They are doing the same old things as if there is no elder in the party to advice them.
Abraham Amaliba, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Sam George, Sammy Gyamfi, Alfred Adongo, Murtala Mohammed, Anim Piesie and Chairman Ofosu Ampofo himself....If these listed people among others, don't stop talking anyhow, especially in the media and to the media, 2020 will just be a carbon copy of 2016 and the NDC only will have itself to blame
Is this Amaliba man a qualified lawyer? What is 'Political Talk' in our law books? The man has been charged with an offence backed by evidence then you say political talk. 'Lawyer" Amaliba please come again.
So as for NDC every utterance of theirs is ' a mere political talk'. Ei... Fiifi Kwetey said that when being vetted for his ministerial appointment..he said the liars he peddled during the NDC 'Keeping the records straight' in Atta-Mills campaign period were all political talk. Can you imagine that? And what is Lawyer Amiliba telling us this time..another political talk. Tomorrow, the foul language from Sammy Gyamfi will also be classified as such. Don't take Ghanaians for ***barred word***, NDC.
NDC will never accept guilt, but wants Ghanaians to take them serious.
***barred word***! "mere political talk", go and tell that to the Judge. NDC political armed robbers must learn to talk with sense.
