Former President Jerry John Rawlings has called on the Electoral Commission to take a critical look at the concerns raised by the National Democratic Congress on the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.
The former President said following concerns raised in a press conference by the NDC on Thursday, it has become necessary for the Electoral Commission to give the party a listening ear and review the process where necessary.
“As I stated in my comments during the meeting with the Chairperson and members of the Commission on Tuesday, the sanctity of the electoral process has to be protected. It is therefore imperative that concerns over the inability of eligible voters to register due to challenges of distance, failure of equipment and inadequate facilities are well investigated.
“The concerns came up during my meeting with the Commission and I respectfully urge them to relook the matter in the spirit of fairness and equity,” former President Rawlings said.
The former President said since there is already a working structure between the Electoral Commission and the parties through the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), all stakeholders in the electoral process should work together to resolve any challenges in an atmosphere of mutual respect and decorum.

We do not need Rawlings and his NDC in Ghana politics. We have had enough of them. It is a high time we broght back CPP in its rightful position in Ghana politics. The UP tradition is manifesting positively in Ghana politics in terms of development and people friendly social interventions. We need CPP and some NKrumahs' positive elements to complement it. NDC is for me too murderous, agressive, bulling and corrupt like Rawlings. Please leave the EC alone to do her good work, she is not the problem. The problem is the NDC.

Papa J,ndc have made up their minds to reject anything that this EC WILL do and their backwards attitude can't be tolerated anymore. Ofosu Ampofo has said they will take her to the cleaners and they are doing exactly that so what else ? some people have come to you for you to rescind what you said because ndc are not happy at all with your concerns about the commission. In any case if they have a problem they can go to court or opt out this is no war because Ghanaians haven't said we need them back soon "NO WAY" their own imagination and greediness coupled with desperation is hunting them. Why are they talking about some people not being able to register and how did they know those people are ndc or they think they can import people to register for them?not that smart anyway! Ndc must understand Ghanaians have rejected them and there is no way this registration can wipe off their over 1 million dificit! didn't they reject this exercise and sent the EC to court so what made them turn around so quickly to be demanding time and some people being disenfranchised? eeeeiii opposition can make some lazy people cra*zy papa! if these people have their own businesses I don't think they would have made politics do or die and Ghanaians are ready for ndc do or die ! If ndc are not satisfied that Ghanaians rejected them because they don't like them and they ndc think it is their right to own Ghana eeeeeeii then they will bite more than they can chew ! Papa J be careful they don't drag you into their kidnapping and killings! Ndc tried to cause confusion between Ghana and Nigeria by importing Igbo kidnappers to do their bidding but the Nigerian community have found how that was going to hurt them and asked if Ghana's laws permit kidnappers to be executed they accept that ! Ndc shame on you !Now you begging Papa J to talk some for you? hahaha Shame on you !
