A 35-year-old police officer with the Akropong District Command, Detective Corporal John Evans Ayerakwa-Kumordzi, has resigned from the Ghana Police Service to contest the parliamentary primaries of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr Ayerakwa-Kumordzi’s resignation from the law enforcement body comes a few days after the Executive Secretary to the Inspector General of Police, Superintendent Peter Lanchene Tuubo voluntarily retired from the service to contest the Wa West parliamentary primaries of the NDC.
Mr Ayerakwa-Kumordzi resigned in February this year so he could fully do partisan politics in the Okere constituency, where he picked nomination forms to run in the NDC’s upcoming primaries.
“I have been in the Police Service for eleven years. I joined the police service in 2008 but I resigned in February this year. Right after the Police Academy, I was posted into my constituency, so, I have worked here for eleven good years. I’ve been with the people for the past eleven years because I was a Detective. So, I’ve been with the people for a very long time and I know their challenges, so, I think this is the right time for me to lead the constituency to help them have a better living condition,” he told Accra-based Starr FM.

If people should resign before they join politics, what should John Mahama, former President do? Is it legally possible for him to come back after we've retired him as a former president to contest the sane position from which he was retired?
Hahahahaha NDC ohhhh you don't have men to contest
SKIN PAIN PAAAAAA NIE!!!!
No wonder the police force has been rated as the most corrupt in the world! they didn't find any party in Ghana not even the Nkrumah's cpp or ppp but corrupt ndc ooh no wonder Ghana police has no respect! God will expose them one after the other so now when you are recruiting you know who to take to be patriotic to Ghana not those who will stand by the road side and collect bribe and when they master in corruption pick forms to stand for masters in corruption nobody should be surprised for ut is the work of God to tell Ghana police to be careful of those they recruit, ndc members come to learn and master in corruption from the police and upgrade to become ndc parliamentary candidates so they can chop big money from parliament, ex-gratia. loans for car etc. They've found Ghana's parliament as a lucrative business center and ndc for f00*00ls are the only party they can join to loot the nation ! I'm not surprised a bit, because I know somebody who discussed with me he wanted to join politics but want to be with the ndc not because he loves it but because that is where you will be promoted on time getting a ministerial position is not hard is very easy unlike the npp where you have to follow a long line with tall list and compete with experienced men and women after that I advised him to rescind his decision for the sake of his integrity and his family! I said it is better to be by yourself than being in ndc politics where the people will hate you and give you names ! He agreed and didn't go but his mates in the university who were in the ndc and were making big bucks were convincing him to join them but he listened to keep his integrity intact than to follow ndc and destroy it.
May God bless you n Protect u and give u the strength to be able to serve your people.Amen
you coming to dispose Hon. Dan Botwe, it will never happen, you will leave to regret, W!cked people.
