Bola Rays Empire Entertainment has graduated from organizing beach
and pool parties to a new era of staging one of the biggest events on
Ghanas entertainment calendar.
Come July 1, the entertainment powerhouse expects to host one of
the largest crowds in Ghana as it stages its first musical fiesta dubbed Ghana Meets Naija at the Dome of the Accra International Conference
Centre.
The event, which is intended to be annual, will be part of this years
Republic holiday celebrations. It is scheduled to bring together the
best of Ghana and Nigerias music industries to celebrate the Republic
holiday with music fans.
Among artistes to be on stage for the groundbreaking event are music
heavy weights Castro, VIP, Sarkodie, Ruff n Smooth, 4x4 Dr. Cryme,
R2bees, Stay J and a number of others. The Nigerian line-up includes J Martins, 9ice, 2face and Wande Cool.
The event was announced with an official launching ceremony on
Wednesday at the Royal Richester hotel in Accra. Present at the launch were Sarkodie, J Martins, 9ice, Dr. Cryme, Lazy
of VIP, Prince and Coded of 4x4, Payday of R2bees, and Kwaw Kese
among others. Nat Kwabena Anokye aka Bola Ray, CEO of Empire Entertainment, promised the event would not just be a night of glitz and glamour but something that has never happened in Ghanas entertainment scene before.
We have been nurturing this dream for a long time and what a way to
bring these stars from Nigeria to make this happen. First of July, we are going to give something that is mind blowing, unprecedented, he said. He said all the artistes were more than willing to be part of the event.
Some of the artistes at the launch ceremony promised to give fans
nothing but fun. Payday said the event would be a platform to show
Nigerian artistes that they first copied music from Ghanaians before
taking it to the next level. Ghana Meets Naija is being sponsored by rLG communications and Smirnoff vodka. Following Ghanas edition will be Nigerias event on a subsequent date.
