Ghanaian music artiste, Stonebwoy, has cautioned the media against comparing musicians in the country.
He stated that musicians differ with respect to their styles and as such, “it is wrong to presume they all need to act in a particular way”.
Stonebwoy sounded the word of caution during an interview on Hitz FM.
In his opinion, comparing artistes, despite their unique styles, tends to dampen their zeal.
“…we don’t need to destroy somebody to move but I’ve realized that on this side of our industry, it has become a norm to compare every little thing. I know the effect and it dampens down the heat of many artistes,” he stated.
He also noted that it would rather be useful for the media, along with other entertainment critics to encourage artistes to work harder.
This, he added, would help boost their careers.
Stonebwoy who is also the Chief Executive Officer of BHIM Nation further stated that Ghanaian musicians along with stakeholders in the industry need to learn from the Nigerians, “so that there could be growth and development”.
That, he stated, was preferable, compared to fighting with them.

Asem naa na waka no. Those so called entertainment pundits (inexperienced too) who sits on radio and tv and run people’s hard earned brand down. Only a fuuuuool will compare themselves to another. These morons set these artistes up against each other which breeds nothing but fierce unhealthy competition, hatred, and those who will do whatever it takes to outshine his/her compatriots. How can love and support for each other prevail? How? These unqualified unprofessional pundits and journalists leave their miserable lives behind and hide behind “I’m giving my opinion” and cause all sorts of confusing. They’re also the reason why our industry is dying. Have u realised, as soon as the songos started lambasting gfa and the black star players, people have lost interest in our sports. I’m not saying, wrongdoings should not be exposed and talked about but it has to be handled tactfully and truthfully but not on lies and propaganda just cos u dislike someone. Some even take money to purposefully denigrate other competitive brands ie destroy other musicians. U wonder why there are so much juju in the industry even amongst gospel artistes. We have a problem!! God punish all saboteurs of good
