In April 2013 when she was called to the Ghana Bar as part of 39 lawyers who were inducted by Her Ladyship Chief Justice Georgina Wood at a meeting of the General Legal Council in Accra, Entrepreneur, TV Host and Philanthropist Sandra Ankobiah had hopes of contributing to the entertainment industry in as an entertainment lawyer but it seems things are not the same anymore.
Yes, the former host of Fashion 101 is more into property and land cases although her firm is a general practice firm and handles all kinds of cases in that regards.
Although she does admit she promised to handle entertainment cases back in 2013 when she was called into the Ghana Bar, she also reveals there is every little to do with the entertainment industry at the moment.
In a special hang out session with Ebenezer Donkoh (NY DJ) on Kumasi’s number one urban breakfast show, #RYSENSYNE on Y102.5FM, Sandra Ankobiah revealed she has had to focus more on property and land cases because of the unavailability of cases within the entertainment industry.
“When I was first called to the bar I did say that I will do entertainment law but I just haven’t had enough cases coming from the industry. You know I haven’t really done much with entertainment law because the cases just haven’t come so I’m just focusing on my …”
Asked if she has a few clients in the entertainment industry she works for, Sandra revealed there were a few friends she drafts contracts for but has had not serious cases to handle.
“I draft contracts and processes some things like that for some friends but no serious cases..”
Sandra Ankobiah however believes there lies a great future for entertainment lawyers as the industry grows.

I am stunned by the large number of people trying to become lawyers for a small country like Ghana. We have huge deficit of other professionals and technocrats that the country has immediate need for to turn our economy around. Is it the fame that goes with the law profession that are driving the people to pursue that profession or what? When sometimes I watch JOYFM program called Newsfile, I see the sense of pride with which the presenter introduces some of the lawyers. It is good to be a lawyer, but I think other areas must be explored because we have more than enough lawyers and far less of other professionals that the country needs now. If Ghana is to go into industrialization, then she needs professional like Industrial Engineers or Operations Research Analysts, just to mention a few, which I doubt if Ghana has any. These professionals use scientific methods to make decisions bordering of profitability of industries.
You live such a luxurious lifestyle under the pretence that you are a lawyer. But not even Tony Lithur can make such amount from his law profession to live that kind of lifestyle in Ghana. How many people hire a lawyer in Ghana? Can you tell us only one high profile case you have been on? Aben Bebom!!!
