Ghana’s flagship beauty pageant, Miss Ghana has been pummeled with lots of controversies over the years and it seems the rot of that umbilical cord is yet to be cut.
It would be recalled that, past Beauty Queens have revealed the unpardonable experiences they had as beauty queens and it’s evident there are damning issues with the pageant.
In a Twitter post sighted by Razzonline.com, Miss Ghana 2017 winner Miss Margaret Derry expressing her misgivings as a beauty Queen, labelled the Miss Ghana beauty pageant brand as a big sham.
According to Margaret, Being a miss Ghana Queen has been one of the worse experiences of her life. She proceeded by saying that though it might look good outside it's a big sham within.
The beautiful and charming slim graduate from the University for Development Studies then advised ladies not to go for such pageants because not all that glitters is gold

It's interesting how everybody seem to be talking ill of a pageant that's meant to create great opportunities for its participants. I want to ask a question to the reporter. How do think events like these are funded especially when a specific session of the media is only reporting bad stories even when there are good ones to report? What products of services do the organizers sell to raise that needed funding or financial support to power events of this nature. Come on people, we can equally offer that support to make this work. My one cent
Hmmmm ....This issue is still pending...A word to the wise is enough!
She can't be more clearer than this. Let's accept was she said and advise ourselves accordingly, she is speaking from experience.
Peace Fm...She says "it's one big sham" not big shame within per your write-up. why, you think she made a mistake? Oya, Pick a dictionary and check.
We have heard and seen how it open every door to girls, even those who are not the ultimate winners. So if there is anything dehumanising you girls, please be bold and say it to prevent good girls from participating. I am saying good girls because there are others, no matter how worse the pageantry may be, they will take part.
