Eze Ndi Igbo Ghana, under the able leadership of HRM. Eze Dr. Amb Chukwudi J. Ihenetu, King of Igbos in Ghana, will on September 22, 2018, celebrate this year’s Igbo Day/IRIJI (New Yam Festival) on the theme, ‘Celebrating Igbo culture in the diaspora’.
The grand event, is expected to congregate all Igbos in Ghana under one umbrella to celebrate their culture while affirming commitments towards working and contributing to Ghana’s development.
This year’s programme which will come off at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park will also congregate hundreds of cultural troupe from Nigeria and Ghana.
Speaking on the upcoming celebrations, Eze Ndi Igbo Ghana, HRM Eze Dr. Amb. Chukwudi Ihenetu, said the event will further deepen the cordial relationship between Ghana and Nigeria and will contribute to the long lasting existing peace between these two great nations.
“As hardworking as we the Igbos are noted for, this festival will also bring businessmen and investors from Nigeria to look for opportunities for further investments in Ghana. We already have thousands of Nigerians working in Ghana and creating employment for others and we hope to do more” Eze Ndi Igbo said.
The upcoming celebration will bring together a number of important dignitaries who have contributed immensely to societal growth and development in their respective position as leaders.
The dignitaries to grace the occasion include, H.E John Agyekum Kufour, Former President of Ghana, H.E Flt. Lit. JJ Rawlings, Former President of Ghana, Otumfour Osei Tutu II, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin, Togbe Afede XIV , Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona, Osu Mantse , Hon. Ishmael Ashitey, Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Kofi Dzamesi, Minister of Chieftaincy and Culture, and Hon. Catherine Afeku, Ghana’s Minister of Tourism.
Dignitaries from Nigeria include HRM Igwe Nnaemekaa Achebe, HRH, Alhaji Yahya Abubakar, HRH Ozo Obi Augustine Nnigwe, HRH Dr. Douglas Okwarachukwu IV, HRM Igwe Dr. Nkeli N. Kelly, HRH Dr. Appolus Chu, Dr. John Nwodo Jnr. H.E Mrs Folashade Tinu-Ojo, Chief Dr. Sherron Parrish and several others.

Why Ghanaians should allow them to celebrate they are festival in Ghana. This people's will soon take over the country. Can Ghanaians will be allow to celebrate they festival in nigerian?
