Boxing legend Azumah Nelson has threatened to ask for his name to be taken off the Kaneshie Sports Complex due to its deplorable state.
He said the sorry state of the Complex does not befit a national edifice bearing the name of a respected former world boxing champion.
The Minister of Youth and Sports Mahama Ayariga has committed Gh�1 million of the ministry�s resources to its refurbishment after paying a visit there recently.
Speaking on TV3�s New Day on Tuesday, the �Professor� as he is affectionately called, said he commands a lot of respect abroad due to the feat he has chalked, especially in the US but when it comes to Ghana is a sharp contrast.
�If you respect somebody and you think that the person has achieved a lot, you don�t name such a place after him,� Azumah said.
