Premier Soccer League prosecutor Zola Majavu has confirmed in a press release that Kaizer Chiefs will appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee on charges of delaying the kick off and failure to obey the match officials directive to change the goalkeepers kit and comply with the phone and pre-match meeting.
This occurred in the Absa Premiership match between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium on 31 October 2009.
Chiefs failed to change to an alternative kit when ordered to do so by the match officials and, in spite of having agreed at both the phone and pre-match meeting, to dress the goalkeeper [Arthur Bartman] in a green jersey, black shorts and green socks, he instead wore a grey jersey.
Chiefs will also face another charge, after the goalkeeper failed to wear an appropriate kit in that the blue jersey which he wore until half-time, which was incorrectly numbered 16, did not have the sponsors logo and so contravened a rule of the PSL kit manual.
