Midfielder Andre Ayew has revealed his desire to become captain of the Black Stars sometime in the future.
The 22-year-old is currently out of the Ghana team for the opening 2014 World Cup qualifiers after recently undergoing surgery to fix a shoulder problem.
He led Ghanaďż˝ youth team, the Black Satellites to a historic World Cup feat in Egypt 2009 and has since been regarded as the heir apparent to the Black Starsďż˝ captaincy.
The Marseille enforcer ended the speculations over his ambition to wear the captains armband of the Black Stars during a question and answer session with kids on the Diva Show on TV3 by confirming it will be a dream come true if he is made captain of the side.
That is a dream and I have never hidden it from people, he said.
I had the opportunity to captain the U-20 team and it was great but for now we have a captain John Mensah who is a good leader.
We dont know what the future holds so we see.
Ayew took temporal charge of the captaincy role during the quarter final game at the 2012 Nations Cup against Tunisia where his goal sent Ghana through to the semi finals.
