Manchester City and Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure has for the second consecutive time been named the 2012 African Footballer of the Year.
Toure, finished ahead of fellow national Didier Drogba and Cameroonian Alexander Song at the awards in the Ghanaian capital, Accra on Thursday evening. This was the fourth time the award was being staged in Ghana after 2006, 2009 and 2011.
The vote was determined by head coaches or technical directors of the National Associations affiliated to CAF.
The 29-year-old midfielder played an immense part in helping Manchester City win their first domestic championship in 44 years.
The Glo-CAF Awards, is an event that rewards Africa's football personalities for the year under review.
Apart from the African Footballer of the Year, there were several other categories for the awards ceremony including the honouring of some legends on the continent.
