Former Ghana international Samuel Johnson has thrown down the gauntlet to the Ghana FA and head coach of the Ghana national team, Avram Grant on his readiness to join the team if there is still a place for Kevin Prince Boateng after his Brazil 2014 World Cup fiasco.
Kevin Prince Boateng in a recent interview expressed his readiness to feature for the Black Stars if the issues surrounding his suspension are resolved but this has provoked the ire of a section of the Ghanaian populace.
Speaking with Kasapa Sports on Tuesday, Sam Johnson cautioned the Technical handlers and Management of the Ghana national team not to entertain KP Boateng anywhere around the team because of his gross insubordination.
I am also ready to play for the Black Stars if anybody at all can wake up and say he is ready for him to get a call up. We should not throw our culture to the dogs. We have our way of doing things and in our setting respect is key. Please do not get me wrong I do not have a problem with Kevin because he is a player and has every right to avail himself for a call up but I am cautioning those who have the power to call him. Those who have the power to call him should look at our culture and do what is right.
The Las Palmas striker was thrown out of Ghana’s camp ahead of their final Group match against Portugal for throwing tantrums and using abusive language on then head coach Kwesi Appiah at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Culture he said? Well that's the problem Mr Johnson. You expected the boys to keep their mouths shut while corrupt individuals enjoy their hardwork. If KP and Sulley hadn't taken the corrupt so called management team to task, it would have been the usual order of the day. Now Ghanaians are aware of their corrupt practices, I'll piss on culture to get results done anyday.
I do not support Sam Johnson on this one. Our culture is responsible for most of our problems. We treat young people like slaves. And Sam Johnson should know better. He is fully aware of how the non-playing staff divert funds meant for players into their own personal accounts. So he should be more logical than this. Our culture of not questioning adults and seniors is responsible for our problems. Boateng did nothing wrong. Kwasi Appiah made a mistake. And he has to own up to it. You must not start a match with Christian Atsu in the number 10 slot whilst Kwadwo Asamoah is in left-back. You must not start a match with Jordan Ayew when KP Boateng is on the bench. It was a mistake Kwasi Appiah did and it is against career progression in the team. In 2010, Stephen Appiah was old, but he started games and Kwadwo Asamoah and KP Boateng came on to replace him. Dede Ayew started some games from the bench but he worked to excellence. That is what career progression is about. You do not field new faces who have not played serious games in sensitive positions and expect they will shine. Inexperience is a major risk. So Kwasi Appiah must take responsibility for that. And about the mutiny in the camp, I support it 100%. It is wrong for the management team to take money meant for players. If there is no transparency, players have to do what they have to do to get their money. And no player refused to take the money when it was paid in Brazil. So why blame KP Boateng? They all took their money including those who did nothing in the team. If KP Boateng and Muntari alone had taken money, then we could blame them. But they ALL took money. So why single out KP Boateng and blame him? Ghana contributed NOTHING to the boy's upkeep. We just went for him when he was made up. So we should not have disgraced him like this. I think the GFA owes KP Boateng an apology.
SAM JOHNSON,STOP THIS NOONSEEENNNNSE .IF YOU CAN COACH, WHY ARE YOU SITING ON THE FENCE.HEARTS ARE WITHOUT A COACH,WHY NOT APPLY.THIS ILLITERACY OF PULL HIM DOWN MUST STOP IN THIS 21 CENTURY.WHAT DID KWASI APPIAH DO?WAS IS NOT MONEY MAKING APPOINTMENT?HEARTS OF OAK ARE DOING JUSTIFIES,WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
DEAREST SAM JOHNSON YOU SO RIGHT AND I SUPPORT YOUR POSTION AND ARGUMENT TOTALLY.
