Former Asante Kotoko coach Bashir Hayford has lashed out at 'ungrateful' Ghanaian pair Samuel Inkoom and Harrison Afful , claiming neglect after given the duo a career lifeline during his time at the Ghanaian giants.
The hard-hitting Ebusua Dwarfs gaffer says he risked his job by fielding the two players during his reign in Kumasi after the duo were rejected by the club's top hierarchy.
He says the club's management kicked against the two players for being pocket-size in nature but says he stood his ground to give them a career lift.
However, the former Ashantigold coach says the two players have neglected him after becoming relatively successful in their careers.
"Samuel Inkoom and Harrison Afful were depending on me for daily bread before being accepted by Kotoko. But none of them have given me a gift", he told Radio Silver.
Afful, who plays for Major Soccer League side Columbus Crew, spent two-years in Kumasi between 2007-9 while free agent Samuel Inkoom spent a season at the club.

Have you also turned back to take care of those who brought you this far?
shame unto you......Is that what the holy quran taught you? Total disgrace
Hello Mr Hayford, I don't think it is good to be blowing your own horn, when others can below it for you. Were you doing it for God and country or you did for your interest. When you start asking for gift from them now, it would sound like, you are begging them to do something in returned for what you did for them sometime back. Allow they themselves to come out willingly and appreciate you, than you saying they are ungrateful... Wrong timing, please come again
What gift are you expecting from them. Please tell the whole world and they will send it to you. You may have given them the opportunity but they worked hard day and night for it. Were you not being paid for the work you did. How did you spend your money. Did you present gifts to those who employed you. This is why the players say coaches collect bribes. Please leave the guys to enjoy with their family and friends.
