German Football Association (DFB) president Reinhard Grindel confirmed his resignation on Tuesday following a series of scandals.
The 57-year-old has been under growing pressure following controversies culminating in a newspaper report on Monday that he had accepted the gift of a 6,000 Euro ($6,700) watch from his Ukrainian colleague Hryhoriy Surkis.
In a statement on Tuesday, Grindel confirmed that he had received the gift and that he would end his three-year tenure in charge. “I am deeply shaken to have to give up my role as DFB president over such an issue,” Grindel said.

Massa the gift is watch not money. Nyantakyi took money and wants reinstatement
The difference
That's how good and principled these Western nations are. It's either black or white, no confusions. Unfortunately, our greedy bastards will travel to play football, or go and learn from their management systems only to return with empty heads to be filled at Kotoka International Airport upon arrival with selfishness, corruption, nepotism, boot-licking, and the rest of the vices that hamper our development. Why on earth must the head and management of the GFA also own football clubs, and we expect them to be professional and fair? No way! I hope the reformation of Ghana Football will take note of that.
this issue is quiet different from Nyantakyi's one. no journalist set him up by giving him a gift and filmed him. this is a real case issue. this is what we want our journalists to do. dip deep to catch people in the act without you participating in it.
this is simple as ABCD.he just resigned without group of people supporting him to be in office. Now it shd be as a matter of principle no gfa shd own a team.this is complete conflicts of interest.
Where's nyantakyi???
Principle. Thank God this is not Africa
