A new hashtag dubbed ''DropThatCoach'' surfaced in the early hours of Tuesday on Twitter, garnering for the dismissal of Head Coach of the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah, following their exit from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations being held in Egypt.
Ghana was knocked out from the round of 16 in the ongoing AFCON by the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on 5-4 penalties extending Ghana's 37-year trophy-less jinx.
Ghanaians have been left in agony after yesterday's painful defeat with majority fuming over the attitude of some players on and off the field of play.
Monitoring comments on twitter, majority of users asserted to the fact that, Appiah's second spell in charge of the Black Stars had been disastrous, urging the 47-year-old gaffer to resign from his post.
Others are of the assertion that, Coach Appiah should be left to continue his rebuilding process of the national team, as many saw no need in employing the services of a new coach especially a foreigner.
It was uncertain whether this hashtag could lead to Appiah being relieved off his duties by the Normalization Committee of the Ghana Football Association or Appiah honourable resigning from his post.
A post-mortem of issues arising from Ghana’s participation at this year’s tournament is expected to take place upon the teams’ arrival later in the week.

a coach who benches players like kwadwo asamoah and asamoah Gyan under this circumstances we found ourselves in the afcon should not wait for him to be sacked. he has to resign instead. a coach that takes instructions and acts upon prophecies and easily controlled by normalization committee members and their ***barred word*** journalists has no business thinking about his continues stay as a coach. there's no element of importance around kwasi appiah that could qualify him as a coach for black star.
A South African referee Bennett robbed Ghana by disallowing a perfect goal and a penalty, denying Black Stars of victory during World Cup qualifier in Uganda in 2018 and another South African referee Victor Gomez robbed Ghana of a clean goal scored by Dede Ayew. Ghana must wake up.
In football, there is what they call "regulation time". They also have "Injury Time." Ghanaians are making history by introducing "blame time." We are professional blamers. What a country!
