The entire results of candidates of 113 basic schools who sat last June�s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) have been withheld, pending investigations into alleged malpractices in them.
Besides, the entire results of 1,024 individual candidates from other schools have been withheld by the West Africa Extermination Council (WAEC).
A statement issued by the WAEC, yesterday, and signed by its Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Agnes Teye Cudjoe said the results withheld, including schools which were alleged to have registered unqualified students in Junior High School (JHS) from other schools.
It said such practices entitled forgery of Continues Assessment Scores which was an examination malpractice and should not be countenanced.
The statement said the withheld results would be released as soon as queries on them have been resolved.
Meanwhile, WAEC has released the provisional results of 383,812 out of 391,082 candidates who sat for the BECE.
This represents 98.14 per cent of candidates who wrote the extermination.
WAEC has posted the result online for candidates to access their results at the Council�s website.
