The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has sacked 22 of its students who hacked into the school’s computer system to manipulate their results.
A notice of dismissal from the university said it took the decision after meeting on the issue at an emergency meeting on Wednesday, 15th February, 2017 by the Academic Board.
The affected students are to leave with school campus with immediate effect.
UPSA said the dismissed students were found culpable of involvement in various “acts to undermine the university’s student information system in order to manipulate various grades in their favour.”
“The Academic Board took a serious view of this conduct considering the potential it has to damage the credibility of the University, and, therefore, further resolved that seven of the dismissed students who refused to cooperate with the investigation process should have their photographs published alongside their names to serve as deterrence.
“All the twenty-two (22) are hereby requested to submit any property of the University including student’s ID card in their possession to the Registrar without any delay.
“The decision of the University is without prejudice to any criminal investigation and prosecution being pursued by the law enforcement authorities,” the dismissal notice said.

John i agree with you on your first sentence but for the students to hack into the school system i don't think is a good idea so they deserve it.
I THOUGHT HACKING HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED IN GHANA AS ONE OF THE MEANS TO GET WHAT YOU WANT. WE WERE IN GHANA WHEN THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION OF MADE A PRESS CONFERENCE THAT THEIR SYSTEM FOR DECLARING THE ELECTION WAS COMPROMISE BY HACKERS AND WE WERE ALL HAPPY AND NEVER ASK FOR ANY FURTHER INVESTIGATION. SINCE WE WERE OKAY WITH THE OUTCOME AND NEVER GOT WORRIED I THOUGHT HACKING IS NORMAL IN GHANA. WHEN THAT STATEMENT WAS MADE BY THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION, BIG MEN OWN UP AND SAID THEY PAID BIG MONEY FOR A GUY HE RECRUITED FROM AMERICA TO COME AND DO THAT JOB. GHANA WE ARE SICK.
