The video below is a project work of two students of the Department of Industrial Art - School of Applied Art, Design and General Studies, Wa Polytechnic in the Upper West Region of Ghana.
The students: Jennifer Gaataa and Comfort Yikweitey mobilized local resources in their environment which is bamboo and calabash to produce what they describe as a 'traditional fountain' to prove to the world that 'everything is possible if you go the extra mile'
According to them, people who often produce the fountains, mechanically create a space for the passage of the water; but bamboo is naturally hollow, and hence made their work a bit easy.
Their artwork is often a source of attraction whenever it is mounted during exhibitions.
