The Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament, Alhaji Rashid Pelpuo, says there is the need for a second look at some provisions in the Transitional Act recently passed by Parliament.
In an interview with Radio Ghana, Alhaji Pelpuo said, there are issues regarding the election of a Speaker.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Rashid Pelpuo, has refuted suggestions by the Minority that the Constitutional Instrument CI 73 for the creation of 45 new constituencies was not properly laid before Parliament.
Speaking to Radio Ghana, he said there was no violation of the standing Orders of Parliament, arguing that even though there is a pending case in court concerning the creation of the new constituencies, Parliament is not going to make any comment on the issue.
In another development, Rashid Pelpuo, has defended the stance taken by former Attorney General, Mrs Betty Mould-Iddrisu, when she appeared before the Public Accounts Committee on Wednesday.
Alhaji Pelpuo said, once the MP for Atwima Mponua had made prejudicial comments about Mrs Mould -Iddrisu, he has compromised his neutrality and the logical thing is for him to voluntarily step aside.
