The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission and the Ghana Medical Association have agreed to continue engagements to resolve all post migration issues pertaining to Doctors placement on the Single Spine Salary Structure.
This came up at a closed door meeting between the two yesterday at the Flagstaff House in Accra.
Speaking to Radio Ghana, the Chief Executive of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, George Smith Graham said the FWSC and the GMA will today go for hearing on the ruling presented by the National Labour Commission to the two institutions.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani, has held a meeting with the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), the National Labour Commission, NLC and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, FWSC to discuss the impasse leading to the doctor�s strike.
A statement signed by the Minister for Information and Media Relations, Mahama Ayariga said the meeting was held yesterday at the Flagstaff House.
It said the Chief of Staff urged all parties in labour disputes to allow the appropriate institutions of state to resolve them.
It said during the meeting, the NLC handed their decision regarding an earlier complaint by the GMA against the FWSC on the same issue.
The statement said following the deliberations by all the parties, the FWSC and executives of GMA agreed to abide by the arbitration award of the NLC referenced until otherwise varied.
It said the executives of GMA and the FWSC subsequently paid a courtesy call on the Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.
