President John Dramani Mahama has disclosed that Abu Dhabi based Energy Company, TAQA has agreed with the government of Ghana to build an additional facility to generate 300 megawatts of power at the Takoradi Thermal plant.
According to President Mahama, who has been in the oil-rich country for the past three days, he will go the extreme mile to do whatever it takes to see to it that Ghana�s energy problems are solved whiles in office.
�I am determined to do everything it is necessary for Ghana's energy security,� he said.
TAQA acceptance to build the Thermal Plant for Ghana was the outcome of a meeting held between President John Dramani Mahama�s delegation to Abu Dhabi and the management of TAQA Group of Companies at the Abu Dhabi Palace Hotel on Tuesday.
Exultantly proud Mahama posted on his Facebook wall moments after the meeting that his �I am pleased to inform you that one of the results of my visit to Abu Dhabi is that TAQA, the national energy company of the United Arab Emirates, has confirmed to construct an additional 300 MW Thermal Plant in Aboadze. Here I am with the officials of TAQA.�
