Some workers of the Ghana Water Company Limited were today held against their will and detained for disconnecting the water supply lines of some police officers in Weija, a suburb in Accra.
Spokesperson for the company, Nana Yaw Berma Barnie told Peace FM news that they got wind that the police personnel had illegal connected their water lines and were using the water for free.
“We disconnected the water lines of the police rented apartment at Upper Weija...after sometime we went back to the place and realized that the police officers there had illegal reconnected the lines. So what we did was to disconnect IT again and this resulted in a misunderstanding. They detained our workers and we had to speak to them for understanding to prevail before they released them”, Mr. Barnie said.
