As former Director of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Dr. Anaba battles to hold on to his position, the newly appointed Director, Dr Emmanuel Kwabla Srofenyoh, says he has already started work in his new role.
The former Director, Dr Thomas Anaba is contesting his transfer from the facility and even threatened to sue government for what he describes as unlawful transfer.
Dr. Anaba said he is still in charge of the hospital but Dr Srofenyo seems to have started work in the newly opened facility as Acting Director.
He told Citi News arrangements are underway to deploy staff into the facility and also receive new patients.
“I have received my letter to that effect. Monday , the 22nd of May, we will start deploying our staff into the facility and then we will start receiving new patients into the facility and then we will start receiving new patients into the facility.
“The strategy is going to be that we will keep old patients in the ward wherever we are now and while we take new patients into the facility and as time goes on…, the old block becomes vacant with time and then the new block becomes more populated. The plan is that by the second of June, the entire service delivery mechanism of raid would have fully relocated.”
Meanwhile when Citi News contacted Dr Anaba this morning, he said was in a meeting with his lawyers and will respond in due time.
Tussle between Health Ministry, Medical Director
There is an ongoing impasse between Dr. Anaba and the Health Ministry.
A supposed letter addressed to Dr. Anaba directed to him to hand over to the Public Services Commission, three years short of the expiration of his tenure.
The letter said the directive was from the Health Minister, who has subsequently appointed Dr. Anaba’s predecessor, Emmanuel Kwabla Srofenyoh.
But Dr. Anaba took the letter as a sign of bad faith and insisted it would be impossible to hand over until the necessary arrangements are put in place for his predecessor to assume his role.
He has also threatened to sue the Health Minister for unduly transferring him from his post.

JOHNK, do you understand predecessor? let him go to court who cares? His arrogance and fo*lishness will teach him sense. What is wrong with Dr. Srofenyo taking back his job for you to go back to where you come from? Didn't he come to meet Dr Srofenyo at that post? And didn't the staff demonstrate against his position for the unfairness to Dr Srofenyo? He has no right to suggest where he wants to be to the government. Dr Anaba should know a government appointed him and another government has come and they think they can't work with you like you did to Prof. Frimpong Boateng and he should know if there was a litigation like he is seeking then Dr Srofenyo was a good man he didn't send the then ndc government to court. So now ndc are going to the courts they denigrated, accused and threatened to kill? Oooh really indeed no position is permanent, so ndc now want sympathy from the courts or it will be their usual song when he lose's in court that all the judges are NPP? Hahahaha! We are living in a small world,a year by now ndc were in power with their JM TOASO insulting everyone and today they are crying they are losing the positions others lost to them hahahaha! Very interesting world and they are looking for fairness and justice so my question is where did fairness and justice go when ndc were in power? WE THANK YOU LORD FOR YOUR MERCIES AND FAITHFULNESS.
Dr.Anaba pls just follow orders and leave the Reg.Hospital. Afterall u were appointed by previous administration who themselves are at home. Go to ur new station and report b4 ur name is off the payroll.
Dr. Anaaba should be transferred to Bolga to go and work there. He is Jst Foooooooling. Has forgotten what happened to Dr Frimpong Boateng? We are aware of all the corrupt deals he did with John Mahama.
IF THIS UNLAWFUL ***barred word*** OF THE DOCTOR CAUSE ANY JUDGEMENT DEBT TO THE STATE, THEN WE SHOULD FORCE THE MINISTER TO PAY THE SAID AMOUNT. I HAVE FOLLOWED THE STORY WITH KEEN INTEREST AND I CAN SEE THE DOCTOR GOING HOME WITH SOME FACT ENVELOPE BY THE TIME HE FINISHED THE CASE IN COURT.
What is wrong with this Anaaba man. This is just a transfer to another public service. So why the fuss? Or is he fighting to cover the rot of the NDC. I can't think far, come again.
have you forgotten that somebody was there before you, so better go back in peace and safe your name, else you are doomed forever, what happened Prof. Frimpong Boateng, have you forgotten so soon, what your party did to him, let the lawyer chop your money small as you did not sweat for it.
... And what advise will the lawyers give to anaba who is a public servant?
