The Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Minister of Interior Ambrose Dery and Officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) are traveling to Tamale to assess situation following heavy rains which killed some residents.
There was heavy traffic on the Tamale-Bolga highway as a result of the flood rains which cut off the road. Several properties swept away including buildings, children and adults.
School children and adults who were trapped in the rains were later rescued by search team.
Scores of people are now living in submersed homes whiles others have moved to stay with their families and friends.
