Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber for Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD), Senyo Hosi has called on government to sanction all authorities of the Atomic Junction gas station whose negligence led to the massive gas explosion on Saturday, October 7.
Speaking in an interview with host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', he expressed disgust over the conduct of the authorities stressing it is about time people are held accountable for their actions and inactions.
According to him, any individual, who per investigations, is found to have failed to execute his/her duties effectively resulting in the gas explosion should be made to face the full rigors of the law.
Mr. Senyo Hosi urged the government to enforce the laws governing the gas sector to ensure there are no further explosions in the offing.
Dismissing claims that the explosion might have been ignited by a Khebab seller, Mr. Hosi said the blame should be laid at the doorstep of the Atomic gas station authorities who failed to take precautionary measures to safeguard the vicinity.
He attributed the explosion to "criminal negligence" and is asking the government to set up a public enquiry which will be telecast live on national television in full glare of the general public.
“We need to enforce the laws and hold people accountable to the latter . . . Immediately, we have to commission a proper investigation; open, not a secret under a Committee that cannot be seen but open for everyone to see. Everybody should see that you’re being grilled to the latter to get to the bottom of the matter and whoever is responsible, government takes the initiative to punish you accordingly . . . Deal with the people line by line. Everybody who’s responsible, we have to hold them accountable and we must start with a public inquiry”.
Mr. Hosi believed when sanctions are meted out to the people responsible for the gas station, it will serve as deterrent to players in the sector.

what inquiry? Ghanaians have refused to think and once we don't want to think, that is what we will go through everyday of our lives. We have refused to respect our elders in society, we talk anyhow to men of God, refused the orders of leadership and we think we are going to have easy? more is on the way. Unless we repent, calamities of such nature will be visiting will be visiting us all the time
Hosi, have you already sued Kennedy Agyapong and got the damages. He openly said that you tried to bribe the energy minister. It is just a Question!
@ Abena. If that is the case why has it not been done all these years. Not discharging your responsibilities especially not pay to government what is due is a crime.BE RESPONSIBLE THE GOVERNMENT KITTY MUST BE FILLED ACCORDING TO THE LAW.
Massa ; NO matter what strategies people pontificate it will never work ; Ghanaians are a lawless species who are not interested in the obeying the law ;they refuse to apply the law and refuse to do their ; everybody wants the easy way out of anything ; they wish to destroy GHana because the people have fulled that it was satanic influences that cause our troubles in Ghana besides they are fulled by these Pastors and REV churches including Pastors like Duncan williams and Mensah -Otabil that they are going to a place called heaven therefore they should destroy or ignore what God has created for them on this earth ; WHAT THEY FORGET IS THAT THERE IS NO HEAVEN !!!!!!!: HEAVEN IS ON EARTH !!!!! we hate regulations and forget that even he who that created us laid down basic rules for humans to obey ; petrol or gas station are not enough in Ghana it is that fact the there are know proper enforcement of the law on health and safety at these stations ; a simple professional gas detector cost less than $30.00 ; these can easily be fixed at stations and any gas leakage will trigger these alarms ; these drivers who handle these gas distribution lorries are not trained ;as far as they have a driving lience they are employed to drive these takers ; stations managers should be made to stand and supervise the discharge of the gas and petrol ; where was the manager for the Atomoc gas station besides most of these drivers of these takers are KROOKS who discharge their load else and mix their load with water ; in the case of this incident the driver may have sold the load already and instigated the leakage at the station thus causing his inferno ; the driver and manager should arrested NOW !!!!!!!because these drivers are Kriminals.
We should be closing down Gas and Fuel located in close to houses and heavily populated areas and not Radio Stations and Banks. Lets set our priorities right,
You don't need any committee, we are tired of them. SIMPLY DO AN AUDIT OF ALL FILLING STATION APPLICATIONS AND THEIR SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS FROM NPA, EPA TOWN AND COUNTRY PL ETC. IF ANY ANOMALIES ARE DETECTED SIMPLY SHUT THE STATION DOWN.
No not another waste of public funds on bofrot, waakye and shi.to all in the name of commiTEA. Just enforcing the existing laws that's all.
