Reports reaching Peacefmonline.com indicate a Tema-Accra bound train derailed on Monday morning leaving scores of passengers injured.
The incident occurred between the Tesano and Alajo section of the railway line.
It is unclear yet what caused the train to derail.
Details are scanty on the accident, but the injured according to reports, have been sent to an unnamed hospital.
The intra-city train shuttle serves thousands of commuters to and from the capital on a daily basis, but is largely considered a death trap.
It is the most convenient mode of commuting for most people living in Accra and Nsawam, especially, traders who convey farm produce and processed food from Nsawam to Accra each day.
But the state of the country’s rail tracks, and even the trains themselves, put passengers at risk.
Meanwhile, the injured persons, according to PeaceFM's Senior Newscaster, Adwoa Yeboah Agyei, who was recounting the incident to Kwame Nkrumah "Tikesie" on OkayFM's Morning Show, were assisted out of the train by some police recruits from the Tesano Police Training School, who were on their normal training routine.

Is this a train? It is a relic of bygone era.
What has AA got to do with this? AA was popularly voted by GHanaians to lead till the next elections so accept it. JM was foooooooooling around for almost 8 years. That one koraaaaa, we put up with it. Whether you like it or not, NDC is too stupppppiiiid to win power again. They will not be coming back. Mark it on the wall.
@Hmm.People like you have no right to be alive. You have no brain and I'm sure your parents have long regretted ever spawning an ***barred word*** like you. How can you blame every goddamn calamity that befalls this country on Nana Addo? What is happening in Ghana is the result of years of neglect,st3al1ng from the public purse, sheer ineptitude and selfishness.Do you call the railway system we have in this country a serious transportation system? I would rather say the government should scrap the whole thing and start from scratch.Thank God that not all Ghanaians are as ***barred word*** as you.
One thing I have observe in Ghana is ignorance,we will wait for the incident to take place before we act, because the public officials are always in their land cruisers so they don't think about Ghanaians, imagine if a minister of state happen to boarding the train everyday the rail's will have been repair, for instance, from ofankor to nsawam the road has become a death trap but this politicians pass through this potholes with their land cruisers and their police escorts, with this our politicians rash to the victims and console them & that is all,may God have mercy upon Ghana.
I wont be surprise to hear u blaming Akuffo Addo soon of ur impote*nce, grow up and behave like a human
Peacefmonline could have taken the pictures from UTV directly instead of showing the TV Shot here. This is not nice.
This is a funny country, we have engineers in the system, who take money at the end of very month, when was the last time the line was inspected. we feel we are so wise to the extend that, we blame somebody for any misfortune. Institutions are not working in this country of ours.
Sad news but the report... "Two persons are said to have been injured but no casualties have been recorded" What does that mean? casualties include the injured or?
