Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Simon Osei-Mensah has said he’s unfazed by threats from Owner of Division One League side King Faisal Alhaji Karim Grusah to march his Cattle at Agogo straight to the Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council once Operation ‘Cow Leg’ continues.
Grusah who owes majority of the Cattle at Asante Akyem Agogo on Tuesday in an interview with Abusua News described the move by DISEC and the soldiers killing their cattle as unfair since they have always cooperated with them to see to the enforcement of a court order to drive away cattle from the Agogo Township.
According to Alhaji Grusah once Mr. Simon Osei Mensah has not ordered his people to halt the killing of his Cattle at Agogo thinking that doing so is what would push him [Alhaji Grusah] to relocate them then he would have no option than to march his Cattle direct to the regional minister’s office.
But the minister in a response to his threat says ”Alhaji Grusah can carry his Cattle to Heaven I don’t care because we are going to deal with the issue on the grounds to protect the people of Agogo”.
”Let me tell you something I can never be intimidated maybe you don’t know me well and I want everybody to understand that” he mentioned on Abusua Nkommo hosted by Aboagye Frank Jackson who sat in for regular host Kwame Adinkra.
”I always want to do things that will help the good people in my region and the country at large and that is what I do. I don’t think President Akufo- Addo appointed me to do things that are not right”. He concluded.

Open rearing of livestock should be banned. I will be surprised if there aren't by laws in the country to that effect.
Put these animals in a Ranch. This is simple matter
Hmmm! Blackman can't think oo. The government continue to encourage the youth to go into farming and yet look on for this cattles to destroy people farms. What signals are you sending to the youth in Agogo. They should waste their energy to farm only for fulani herdsmen to destroy their farms with their cattle. What happened recently is a wake up call. Are we waiting for the herdsmen to be well empowered to kill everybody in Agogo before we take action. I feel sad and sorrow for the farmers in Agogo. What wrong did they cause to deserve this treatment. The so called DISEC have meet 100 times and nothing has come out of it. Why? Can't the security sack these fulani guys. It is sad to be a Ghanaian. My heart beats for the people of Agogo. I pray for God to intervene since we cannot be protected by the government and the security of this country.
So, is it difficult to keep these cattles in their den and be feeding them? There's one thing we all need to bear in mind is that, Ghana doesn't have a free range system, where animals can be moving in town with human beings in this 21st century. It seems the richer ones don't respect the poorer ones.
When I commented on this same article on Ghanaweb that it was an opportunity for the guy to turn this around by drawing on the example of Saudi Arabia where they are producing diary products in the desert for the Gulf region in a regulated environment, and he should seek investment to address this once and for all, some emotional character came to spew some putrid stuff in response to my comment Gidi domething. Responded to it but Ghanaweb censored my comment. They have managed to make their diary industry into over a billion dollar vertically integrated business in the desert even employing expats from as far afield as Ireland, to work on the diary farm in the desert, and we have not been able to address this in over 15 years whilst lives and property are being lost. I recall Karbo speaking to this issue sometime back and said the Akufo Addo govt will adopt the South American or Brazilian approach to cattle ranching in Ghana. Hopefully, this is done because if in the desert, they have managed to create such an industry worth over billions, we, with our environment should be able to kill two birds with one stone, protecting lives and property, creating jobs and a potentially billions upon billions diary industry, peace and stability in Agogo or wherever the cows will finally be relocated. It's 15 years too late and it must be fixed.
So the Blackman can't think...do they know what a ranch is? Why are you people so complicated like that...sometimes I wonder how God created you people.
