The Objective Media Forum has observed with disdain attempts by some individuals to attack the integrity of the Director General of the Social Security and Insurance Trust (SSNIT) Dr. Ofori-Tenkorang. These attempts are meant to denigrate, discredit and cast the outstanding SSNIT director in bad light. Dr. Ofori-Tenkorang has not only transformed SSNIT but also brought his expertise to bear in positioning SSNIT as an enviable institution.
His outstanding leadership won him Procurement and Supply Chain Awards 2018 The Procurement Transformation CEO for his contribution to transparent procurement processes, cutting down costs, procurement evaluation and monitoring at SSNIT which have invariably led to protecting the nation’s public purse- at the Procurement and Supply Chain Awards 2018.
Dr. Ofori-Tenkorang has developed innovative insurance solutions that combined traditional insurable risks with capital market risks, which improved earnings and reduced earnings volatility for corporations. He is also credited for developing an alternative asset classes for pension funds to achieve better diversification. The deliberate attempts by some faceless individuals to discredit hard working appointees and civil servants should not be encouraged.
The selfish political interest of some few should not deprive Ghanaians and the state of competent men to manage the affairs of state. We wish to reiterate that, Dr. Ofori-Tenkorang was not appointed on political grounds but his competence and experience were considered.
He must be allowed to work without any hindrance from within or outside government. He is a seasoned Investment Banker, Engineer, and Academic. He worked extensively in structuring and executing derivative transactions, and raising financing for several mining companies in Africa and South America. He worked with several multilateral lending institutions to provide innovative structured hedging facilities to commodity producers with low credit ratings, and with the AIG Africa Infrastructure Fund in private equity deal origination. We wish to conclude by admonishing the SSNIT boss to focus on working in the interest of the state and ignore the negative attacks being directed at him.

Delay in payment of SSNIT pensions must stop.Poor pensioners deserve better.
People don’t know and seem to be unprepared to find out from well meaning people who have dealt with Ssnit recently to get to know how the Mann is managing Ssnit. It is amazing how gradually this man and his team are transforming Ssnit. He is proactive , professional and fast in taking good decisions . Even in the procurement of services for the organization one would go through a thorough value for money processes and fair assessment before you get shortlisted to provide one service or another. I have personally experienced him, and his assistants like Douglas in the insurance department and I tell folks these guys are on a journey to make the trust what we all hope it will become- a world class. We should all encourage and support them to give us the best of service that the hard working Ghanaian is hoping for at the time we are on pension. Let us pay our contributions on time and encourage the rest of the staff to embrace the change And the transformation agenda of Dr Ofori-Tenkorang and his immediate team and eschew politics at the trust. Employees should feel proud to have such a leader and give their all to support him to achieve. When ssnit becomes what we expect, the glory won’t come to him alone but all employees and you will be proud you work there. Kudos Chief, be focused keep up the good work. God will be your strength. God bless you Ssnit and Hod bless all. William- Allianz
That's the reason when there was a ban on employment he managed to employ the son of Snr. Minister Kweku Ananse Osafo Marfo as deputy DG of SSNIT
THE DG OF SSNIT SO FAR HAS DONE VERY WELL. HOWEVER, HIS GOOD WORKS WILL BE INCOMPLETE IF HE FAILS TO TAKE OVER THE SSNIT INFORMAL SECTOR FUND (SISF) FROM NTHC LIMITED. SISF IS TOO MUCH FOR NTHC TO HANDLE LOOKING AT WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO MAKE THE FUND MOVE FORWARD. THE FUND IS SO VIABLE AND AN IMPORTANT SCHEME THAT AN ORGANIZATION LIKE NTHC SHOULD HANDLE. NTHC SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE THE FINANCIAL AND HUMAN RESOURCES TO RAN THE INFORMAL SECTOR.NTHC DO NOT TREAT STAFF OF THE FUND WELL, NTHC HAS NOT MADE ANY INVESTMENT TO GROW THE FUND SINCE THEY TOOK OVER IN 2012, NTHC MISMANAGE CONTRIBUTORS FUNDS AND WE ALL LOOK HELPLESS. OUR CONCERN NOW IS THE INNOCENT CONTRIBUTORS. THE FUND FACES IMMINENT COLLAPSE IF SSNIT DOES NOT ACT FAST. COMPETITORS HAVE STARTED THE TIER 3 AND SSNIT NEED TO ACT FAST AND INVEST SO MUCH IN PUBLICITY TO REACH OUT TO POTENTIAL CONTRIBUTORS. IF SISF AND THE STAFF ARE LEFT IN THE HANDS OF NTHC THE STAFF THEMSELVES WILL HELP COLLAPSE THE SCHEME BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT TREATED WELL AND ENCOURAGE CONTRIBUTORS TO PORT THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS TO OTHER COMPETITORS SINCE THE LAW ALLOWS THAT FOR THE TIER 3.
rubbish
Please, ask the DG whether he deserved the award and what job has he done at the SSNIT that he has transformed the institution? These NPP people think everybody is dumb and cannot see or think eehh?
