Goaso, of Asunafo North municipality, has been named the capital of the new Ahafo Region.
President Akufo-Addo speaking at a ceremony to present Constitutional Instrument (C.I.) 113 for the creation of the Ahafo Region at the Jubilee House in Accra on Wednesday, 13 February 2019, made this known and added that an amount of GHC20m has been allocated for the new region.
The President also indicated that development for the Ahafo Region will spread across all the towns and villages.
Akufo-Addo also named Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Evans Opoku-Bobie as the caretaker minister for the newly-created Ahafo Region until a substantive minister is appointed.
So far, four of the new regions have received their capital towns. They are:

Was there a need to create new regions? How big is volta and western regions to be divided as compared to the Ashanti region? Do you see the trick? chiefs in those new regions will think, honor is done to them but rather they are divided to be disunited to deny them the needed development because they don't have the numbers. in politics, this is divide and rule. more harm to be afflicted on them sake of political gains
Sign of good things to come? Really? isn't this more jobs for the Politicians? couldn't the 20m be used to invest in the new regions without having to break them from their original? I am very sure, most of the 20m will be used on providing structures for the regional excutives than infrastural development for the ordinary people.
Can't we be positive for once. The negativity is killing the nation. Be positive and contribute positively for it will yield the needed fruits.
