The Ministry of Railways Development has placed a ban on the selling of railway lines and old coaches with an immediate effect.
The sector minister, Joe Ghartey said the ban has been in existence since 2017 but has been renewed until further notice.
He explained that the sector has commenced a program for the rehabilitation of some of the existing narrow gauge lines and coaches for use.
“Until this program has ended the Ministry will not lift the ban on the selling of railway assets as scrap,” he told Peacefmonline.com.
